Shining star! Padma Lakshmi glimmers in green sequins as celebrities support Alicia Keys at her charity ball

On Wednesday night, Keep A Child Alive honoured Clive Davis at their 13th annual Black Ball, which they threw in Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom.

Among the fleet of celebrities sauntering down the black carpet, Padma Lakshmi was a showstopper.

The 46-year-old bared a bit of cleavage in a glittering strapless green gown that accentuated her enviably svelte physique.

Belle of the ball: On Wednesday night, Padma Lakshmi headed to Keep A Child Alive's 13th annual Black Ball in New York City

Her wavy black hair fell free over her shoulders, often obscuring the large hoop earrings that dangled about her face.

The Top Chef hostess completed her outfit with a pair of simple black stilettos, posing beside Keep A Child Alive CEO Peter Twyman, who in an interesting touch wore a black tuxedo with a cummerbund sans tie.

The Chennai native also made sure to smile for the cameras alongside the Black Ball's mistress of ceremonies, Alicia Keys.

Go green in a sassy sequined dress

The Keep A Child Alive honored Clive Davis at their 13th annual Black Ball, in Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom on Wednesday.

The black carpet was star studded and one star that definitely caught our eye was Padma Lakshmi.

The beauty rocked a strapless green sequined dress that she paired with strappy sandals and topped it off with hoop earrings.

Her dress is by Sally LaPointe from the Pre-Fall 2016 collection but to our dismay it's not up for grabs.

Avowedly make-up free for months, the 35-year-old stuck to her theme. Her anchor grey top cinched about her svelte waist and featured a tear near the neck.

A pleated black skirt opened over her black trousers, and she added a pop of colour by way of wine-coloured high heels. White strips bearing the words 'WE NEED LEADERS' in black ran down the right of her bust.

Mrs Swizz Beats also stood for photographs alongside the man of the hour, who cut a dapper figure in a charcoal pinstriped three-piece suit.

A pop: Wine-coloured high heels clashed elegantly against her otherwise grey and black outfit

A bright red tie blared against the Sony Music Entertainment Chief Creative Officer's white dress shirt and matched his pocket square. The 84-year-old rounded out his ensemble with faintly tinted spectacles and gleaming black dress shoes.

The If I Ain't Got You singer attended the event with her dashing husband of six years on her arm. Like Twyman, the 36-year-old donned a perfectly fitted black tuxedo with a black dress shirt but did without a tie for the evening.

Genevieve Barker's Prussian blue strapless dress featured a V at its neckline that showed off a bit of her décolletage.

Excellent company: They both at one point were photographed flanking the 84-year-old honouree

An impressive jewelled pendant dangled about the model's neck, and she held a dull gold clutch at her side, complementing her casually bundled-up blonde hair.

Russell Simmons draped an arm about the 27-year-old, having pulled on black and white trainers with his silver suit and black bow-tie.

Alek Wek emphasised her vertiginous legs in a blue and yellow sleeveless tartan jumpsuit she wore over an orange dress shirt with its sleeves rolled up.

Plunging: The Australian bombshell's cleavage baring Prussian blue dress was also backless

Snappy: Meanwhile, the 59-year-old wore white trainers with his silver suit

A darker orange beaded pendant was flanked by a plunging neckline, and multiple bracelets adorned both the 39-year-old's wrists.

Meanwhile, Josephine Skriver wore a similar sleeveless jumpsuit with a similarly low V-neck, but hers was black and she'd put on nothing underneath it.

Having thrown her curly dirty blonde hair over her right shoulder, she was able to showcase the swirling gold drop earring at her left.

Flashing the jewellery: Her hair was thrown over her right shoulder, allowing her swirling gold left earring to gleam under the lights

Black high heels amplified the already precipitous appearance of her pencil thin stems as she stood on the black carpet before the Black Ball began.

Grandmaster Flash artfully blended casual chic with formal attire, flinging a black tuxedo jacket over a navy and white T-shirt and adding a splash of glitz by way of a gold pendant. A baseball cap was perched on his head and he wore black slacks.

Salt-N-Pepa, who were performing at the evening's festivities, trod the red carpet in cleavage-flashing black outfits.

The hip-hop trio shared an eclectic lineup with A$AP Rocky, Patti Smith and Chance The Rapper, according to the Keep A Child Alive website.
