Brooke Shields, 51, glitters in figure-hugging gown at American Ballet Fall Gala

On Thursday night, a gaggle of celebrities converged on Lincoln Center to celebrate the American Ballet Theatre's 2016 Fall Gala.

Among a guest list including Elizabeth Olsen and Calvin Klein, Brooke Shields was particularly eye-catching in an Oxford blue dress with a glittering baroque pattern.

A slender lighter blue sash cinched the figure hugging outfit about the 51-year-old's waist, accentuating her still trim figure as she swung by the David H Koch Theater.

Her wavy blonde hair was flung over one shoulder as she smiled for the camera, having minimised as far as makeup was concerned.

Sheer long sleeves featured diamond shapes cloven into the wrists, allowing a glimpse of skin. The mother of two accessorised with a metallic and red clutch.

Meanwhile, the Godzilla star had donned a thick sleeveless pine green gown, holding a matching clutch at its side and flashing her winning smile.

The eminent fashion designer kept his look simple, a perfectly-fitted black suit and black tie sufficing for the occasion.

Julianna Margulies' strapless black dress bore a white floral pattern and complemented her black ankle-strap stilettos. A deep red clutch clashed artfully against the frock as she posed beside her besuited husband Keith Lieberthal.

Star Jones bared one shoulder in a flared-hem dress that turned solid black below the waist but, above it, featured intricate black floral patterning on a cream field. Her purse appeared to be attached to her hand as a fingerless glove.

The red carpet also played host to ballerina Misty Copeland, who highlighted her dancer's build in a white dress that featured a lopsided V-neck and a flared hem.

She performed during the repertory evening's second piece: Frederick Ashton's opus Symphonic Variations, tailored to the music of César Franck.

On the evening's bill, Symphonic Variations was preceded by a rendition of Camille Saint-Saëns' composition Rondo Capriccioso and followed up by Daphnis et Chloé, which Maurice Ravel wrote on commission from Sergei Diaghilev himself.
