June 22, 2015 – The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) today elected new members to its Board of Directors at the 2015 NFPA Conference & Expo in Chicago. The three-year terms for new members took effect upon the close of the annual meeting.

NFPA announced today that current board members William Stewart, Peter J. G. Willse and Harold A. Schaitberger were re-elected to serve for a second three-year term.

New members elected to the board include John D. Bonney, R. David Paulison and Michael Wallace.

Bonney is co-director of Alchemy Management Solutions Ltd., a strategic risk management consultancy that provides community risk reduction expertise and associated training offerings. He is also chairman of the largest trading arm of the UK’s Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), CFOA National Resilience Ltd. Paulison, currently a private consultant on fire and emergency service issues, is a recognized leader in emergency and disaster response and recovery, most recently serving as administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Paulison’s tenure as FEMA director began in 2005 marked by a renewed focus on key national safety and preparedness priorities, including effective national response to disasters through three hurricane seasons, California wildfires and the 2008 mid-west floods. Under his leadership, the agency reframed how the nation prepares for and responds to all-hazard disasters through a new FEMA Strategic Plan and directed the development of the new National Response Framework. He previously served as Administrator for the U.S. Fire Administration as well as Director for Preparedness for FEMA where he was responsible for over $1 billion in grant programs for state and local governments.
