July/August issue of NFPA Journal looks at life safety issues at large festivals, leaving bedroom doors closed for fire safety, “The Secret List,” and more

July 14, 2016 – In its new July/August issue, NFPA Journal®, the official magazine of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), offers a broad look at assembly occupancy life safety issues, from outdoor festivals to subway platforms to big-top circus events.

In the cover story, “Life of the Party,” Associate Editor Jesse Roman delves into the new world of medicine, technology, and crowd challenges that exist within the booming global festival industry. The article looks at how the industry is embracing the concept of “harm reduction” by integrating methods of safety, security, and medical efforts designed to complement the life safety evaluations required for large assembly events by NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®.
