Fire Protection Research Foundation will partner with British Automatic Fire Sprinkler Association (BAFSA) and the European Fire Sprinkler Network (EFSN), co-sponsors of
Fire Sprinkler International 2014 to present three days of presentations under one roof covering all aspects of water-based automatic fire suppression: the latest research, challenges, new technology, new techniques and solutions to fire protection problems. With international experts gathering in London for Fire Sprinkler International 2014 for May 20th & 21st, you can benefit by attending another important event at the Fire Protection Research Foundation Seminar on May 22nd.
The BAFSA and EFSN will jointly host Fire Sprinkler International 2014, the only conference and exhibition outside North America dedicated to sprinklers and water mist. Fire Sprinkler International 2014 will be followed by a symposium held by the Fire Protection Research Foundation, an affiliate of the National Fire Protection Association, on emerging storage hazards and potential storage configuration challenges.
The Fire Sprinkler International 2014 Conference Program will explore the following themes: business sustainability with sprinklers/water mist, new sprinkler/water mist technology and innovative sprinkler applications. The two-day conference provides a unique forum for those who wish to change the attitudes of legislators, regulators and building owners and allows experts and end-users to understand national concerns and share best practices. The event will also allow a detailed focus on and understanding of the latest technology and research that underpins the wider and more effective use of sprinklers.
With an array of international speakers, all experts in their chosen disciplines, delegates can be assured that they will leave Fire Sprinkler International 2014 informed, inspired and certainly with a broader knowledge of the capacity, capabilities and consistent performance of fire suppression systems.
Fire Sprinkler International will take place on May 20th-21st followed by the Foundation symposium on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 in London at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. The partnership is a follow-up to the success of EFSN’s conference in Paris in 2012 and building on BAFSA’s previous UK-based events as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The Foundation symposium "Global Research Update: High Challenge Storage Protection" will present new approaches to fire protection of new, high hazard commodities in challenging storage arrangements. "The goal of this symposium is to actively encourage a discussion regarding those challenges and work toward solutions," said Kathleen Almand, executive director of the Fire Protection Research Foundation. Program highlights include: emerging storage challenges facing global property owners; the latest global research on stored commodities and configurations hazards; and a global insurance perspective on emerging issues. Attendees will benefit from solutions to real-world applications such as lithium ion battery storage, high hazard plastic storage and other unique storage configurations.
