The Montreal Protocol, administered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is the international agreement to preserve the Stratospheric Ozone Layer that protects the earth from harmful radiation. This site provides technical information related to the alternative technologies that have been investigated and employed to make it possible to virtually eliminate use of the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and halons that harm the ozone layer.
