Mobile Integrated Healthcare and Community Paramedicine (MIH/CP) Data and Resources

Research Foundation banner

The concept of MIH/CP has existed for some time in the USA, but it is more prevalent in other countries around the world. The primary purpose of MIH/CP programs are to provide more healthcare services directly to patients on location and to minimize transfer to the hospitals. While many EMS systems have begun to consider methods responsive to this activity, few resources exist to guide administrators in this underdeveloped niche of out-of-hospital medicine. While the EMS providers are seen as the bridge to bring healthcare to the community, models and practices available along with understanding of impact is lacking.

Research Goal: The goal is to document where mobile integrated healthcare/community paramedicine (MIH/CP) is being used, clarify information on how it is used from those jurisdictions, and provide information help to develop guidance relating to MIH/CP systems.
