Ben Affleck was back on parenting duties on Wednesday while estranged wife Jennifer Garner gets on with work in New York.

The 44-year-old actor took daughter Seraphina, seven, to school in Brentwood, looking hip in a bomber jacket and beanie.

Perhaps needing an early morning pick-me-up the actor carried a coffee on the stroll and displayed a scruffy beard.

Ben wore dark jeans, a black t-shirt and grey trainers on the casual outing.

Seraphina lugged a large backpack over her pale blue school dress and navy blazer.

Meanwhile, Ben's estranged wife Jennifer says she thinks it is 'so important' that she is a role model for her children.

The 13 Going on 30 star - who also shares Violet, 10 and Samuel, four, with the Argo actor - is involved in a lot of philanthropy work, something which she feels sets a good example for her children.

'It's so important that you model for your kids how to be a citizen of the world, and I think that's the very best thing you can do.'
