The burial slab that many Christians believe once held the body of Jesus Christ has been unveiled by scientists for the first time in centuries. The original surface was exposed during the restoration work being done at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem, according to the National Geographic. Until then, marble had encased the slab (pictured) since at least 1555 AD. The organization is filming the work being done at the church, which is considered the most sacred site in Christianity. A shocking video has emerged showing a young male student punching his female teacher across the face in a classroom (left) - however another student quickly comes to the teacher's defense. The footage shows that the teacher was trying to break up a fight between two students - one in a red hoodie and one in a black hoodie - when the boy in the red turns around and hits her. A third student then appears and hits the boy in red (center), sending him straight down the ground (right). The incident appears to have been filmed in the US but it's unclear exactly which state and when it happened.

The host of 'The Kelly File' has been in active talks with the network over her contact which expires next July. Kelly, who is viewed as Fox News's 'brightest star' with a 'big part of the future' at the network, will make around $15 million this year, sources say. But she is hoping to get more than $20 million in her negotiations. But Rupert Murdoch has said that while he wants to get her signed 'very soon', but said it is 'up to her'. Fire officials say an overnight blaze that tore through a five-story apartment building in Manhattan has left one person dead and 12 civilians and firefighters injured. The fire was reported around 3:30am Thursday in a building on East 93rd Street in the Yorkville neighborhood on the Upper East Side. The flames quickly spread throughout the building and, at one point, were shooting out the roof, sending burning embers onto nearby buildings. Some residents of the burning building fled into the streets in their pajamas. Firefighters have extinguished the blaze, but are still putting out hotspots.

Michael Dion accidentally slipped down the gap between the train and the platform as it pulled into the station in Manhattan. The extender crushed into him 167 times before an electrician was able to turn it off, his lawyer Jay Dankner said. The accident happened almost six years ago, but a Manhattan jury awarded the payout this week.

A US urban explorer has opened a window into abandoned former Hong Kong mansion of martial-arts icon Bruce Lee. Video footage has captured the terrifying moment two men were involved in a high-speed car crash which was streamed live on the internet. The passenger in the convertible sports car streamed the horrific incident live on Periscope as he and the driver travelled along the Istanbul-ile highway in Turkey. The pair can be heard laughing and listening to loud music, as the camera pans over the speedometer showing the car is travelling at 96mph - before it smashes into the back of another vehicle.

Green flashes of light spotted in the sky over Siberia have left residents and experts baffled. Several theories of origin have been put forward including stray missile part, meteor or aliens. Some say it must be manmade while others argue it is some kind of space matter. Experts say the timings do not fit for the object to have been a missile, launched by Vladimir Putin's military in Orenburg. Other experts argue it is a type of meteor while social media was awash with people convinced it was aliens.

Suspected carjacker Javier Munoz was shot by police as he tried to flee in a stolen vehicle in Las Vegas. Trooper David Dudley then gave chase, pursuing Munoz before eventually shooting him as he tried to flee in a second stolen vehicle. Medical aid arrived at the scene within minutes, but Munoz died the next day from his injuries. Trooper Dudley remains on paid administrative leave pending the result of the investigation.

Jijo Bai, 60, a local vendor, was trying to shoo away the animal that had been creating panic in the market area in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh in central India. But to the horror of onlookers, the bull charged at her, using all its might as it hurled her several feet into the air.

Nature photographer Suzi Eszterhas, 40, spotted the adorable pair of southern sea otters swimming in Monterey Bay, California. She watched as the mother otter lifted the pup out of the water and on to her belly to keep it warm and dry. Ms Eszterhas used a long telephoto lens to photograph the mother and pup without disturbing their activities. There are almost 3,000 sea otters living along the California coast - all of which are descendants of a colony of 50 otters discovered in 1938.

A stricken motorist has been left without a car after he mistook a deep pool of water for a puddle. Video footage has captured the moment the man tried to park on a construction site in the Ardesen district of north-eastern Turkey's Rize Province - with disastrous results. CCTV from the scene shows the driver attempting to park up on a section of tarmac seemingly covered in rainwater - but it was in fact a water-filled pit which completely swallowed his vehicle. Fortunately, he managed to jump out of his car just in time to watch as it became submerged in the water.
