Police investigating after Justin Bieber's convoy is caught on video driving into oncoming traffic before a pint at a Manchester pub with an ice hockey team

  • Convoy carrying star and entourage believed to have driven dangerously
  • Singer, 22, in back of car leaving rented £4.5m Cheshire mansion last night
  • Bieber played ice hockey last night before heading for a pint with friends
  • Cheshire Police urge witnesses to come forward over 'erratic' driving
  • Incident came days after Bieber stormed off stage after being booed

Police are today looking for witnesses who saw a convoy allegedly carrying Justin Bieber and his entourage driving 'erratically' and on the wrong side of the road.

The star, 22, is believed have been in the back of a Range Rover seen leaving the £4.5million mansion he is renting in Cheshire last night before a trip to an ice rink and drinks in a pub.

His car and the two others surrounding him are seen driving fast and one witness can be heard exclaiming: 'F****** hell, that is such bad driving' as one swings out toward oncoming vehicles.

The incident was filmed by Simon Asai, who was in a car behind the singer's three cars as it left his rented home at around 7pm last night to play ice hockey with the Manchester Storm team before heading to the pub.

A Cheshire Police spokesman told MailOnline: 'We are aware of footage on social media which appears to show erratic driving in the Frodsham area yesterday evening. Although we have not received any reports in relation to this we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has recorded the original footage'.

The 22-year-old superstar, who is worth around £50million, is on his UK Purpose tour and has rented a £17,000-per-month rural retreat for his gigs in Manchester and Sheffield.

Mr Bieber has been approached for comment, but it appears if the star was in one of the cars he would not be driving. Cheshire Police has also been asked if it has received any complaints.

One eyewitness told the Mirror: 'It was very unnecessary. I've never seen a car do such a stupid manoeuvre, and put people's lives at risk. That's why I was so shocked.'

The star has enjoyed four nights off after two dates in Manchester and will play in Sheffield tonight, and Glasgow tomorrow.

Last night he chilled out after a heated few shows in Manchester - with a visit to see the ice hockey team Manchester Storm.

The team posted a picture of them together on the ice at the Altrincham Ice Dome before they went to the Tavern On The Green pub to share a pint or two.

General manager Neil Russell told the Manchester Evening News: 'I'm in the pub stood next to him now.

'I sent him an email a few weeks ago and heard nothing back. Then I got a call on Monday saying he would be very keen to meet up with the team for a skate.

'He cancelled on us three times but then they got in touch tonight and said I'm on my way. So I got the team together and we were all skating with him for a good hour or so. And now we are at the pub with him.'

It came days after he stomped off stage in Manchester when fans booed him for taking too long between songs.

The £4.75m property he is renting looks like the grass-covered Teletubbies home with its very own helipad, football pitch and indoor swimming pool and gym.

The multi-level property is built into a hillside and has its very own 'leisure section', including a 'fully equipped sports bar with fridges, seating and three TV screens'.

The bar overlooks an open hall used for indoor games such as cricket, badminton and football.

Parallel to the sports hall is the indoor pool, with a steam room, jacuzzi and changing rooms, as well as the gym.

The seven-bedroom home also has its own wine cellar and outdoor adventure area with a zip-wire, playground and tree house.

It is owned by tycoon Steve O'Connor, who made millions from his own rail freight and logistics company, and is now a majority shareholder at Widnes Vikings rugby league club.

He and his wife put the home on the market in 2014 for £4.75m but have been unable to sell it.

Bieber, 22, is renting the home for the northern England leg of his current world tour which has seen him play three nights in Manchester last week.

It comes days after he hired a 15-bedroom mega-mansion in London at a cost of £108,333 a month, or almost £1.3million a year, while playing at London's O2 Arena.

The 24,000 sq ft house, which has the same floor space as 20 semi-detached homes, was put on the market in 2012 for £100million. It eventually sold for £25million.

As soon as news of his move to the North London home broke, dozens of his notoriously obsessive fans, dubbed 'Beliebers', gathered outside the red brick property, hoping for a glimpse of their idol.

Bieber's stay in the North has not been without controversy. On Sunday he stormed off stage during a gig in Manchester after asking fans to stop screaming in the gaps between songs.

'I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love I appreciate the kind things,' he said.

'But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you. I don't think it's necessary when I'm trying to say something and you guys are screaming.'

When the audience failed to go quiet he dropped his microphone and walked off the stage, with some fans booing as he left.

Bieber later returned to continue to the gig and explained why he'd walked off.

'I feel like I want to connect with you,' he said. 'The point of the no screaming thing is that when I'm looking at you in the eyes you know that we're actually having a moment and having a connection.'

He told the crowd they were 'awesome', but after realising fans were still screaming added: 'I'm just going to quit the talking alright.

'I'm not going to talk the rest of the night. We're just going to do the music. Obviously Manchester just can't handle it so let's do the music.'

Earlier in the week Bieber told a crowd in Birmingham to calm down and stop screaming while he was talking, suggesting screaming 'is just so obnoxious'.

The singer asked the crowd not to drown him out when he was speaking and singing.

When fans started screaming again during an interlude Bieber hit back.

In a video captured by one of his fans, @purposesbieb, the singer strides about the stage before telling his fans: 'If, when I'm speaking, you guys could not scream at the top of your lungs. Is that cool with you guys? The screaming is just so obnoxious.'

He added: 'If we could just scream after the songs? Enjoy the songs, then scream, screaming is awesome. Screaming is fun.'
