Shabby chic! Cate Blanchett is almost unrecognisable as she sports platinum blonde hair and retro ensemble in all-female spin-off Ocean's Eight

She's known for her classical elegance on the red carpet.

So, when Cate Blanchett was dressed in a retro-styled ensemble, she was almost unrecognisable while filming the all-female Ocean's Eleven spin-off, Ocean's Eight, in New York on Wednesday.

The Oscar-winning actress sported a shaggy platinum blonde long bob and over-sized brown sunglasses as she mingled with the all-star cast, including Helena Bonham Carter and Sandra Bullock.

The mother-of-four swathed her slender frame in a number of layers with a knee-length grey and black coat over the top.

Adding to her Seventies styling, the actress wore what appeared to be velvet flares and elongated her legs with chunky platform heel boots.

Cate appeared to be wearing a black vest with no top underneath and just a peak of her lacy bra and cleavage.

However, the actress covered up the busty display slightly with two scarves around her neck.

One was a short leopard print design tied into a knot, and a second was a black and brown printed scarf, draped around the back of her neck and hanging long, all of which clashed with her grey coat.

Walking down the street, the starlet kept one hand in her pocket, which highlighted the multiple accessories on her wrist.

Adding to the gold accessories, the 47-year-old also sported hoop earrings as well as both short and long gold necklaces.
