Hold on tight! Kym Marsh's character Michelle Connor is yet again set to shock Coronation Street viewers as she shot dramatic scenes set to air on the show in December

Michelle has fallen pregnant with Steve McDonald's child although it is revealed on Friday's show that she planned to abort amid chances the baby could be born with duchenne muscular dystrophy.

After researching abortion clinics, she is outed when Steve's daughter Amy, who he shares with Tracy Barlow, rifles through her iPad to find the webpages.

As filming was underway on Wednesday, it was clear Michelle's plans were thwarted when her baby bump was seen getting bigger.

Dressed in character, Kym still managed to look stunning as she sported a bright orange top which skimmed her baby bump, layered beneath a black waterfall jacket.

She wore skin-tight jeans with a pair of wedged trainers to help boost her height. Adding to the down-to-earth look was her thick-rimmed glasses.

The stunning star appeared to run into trouble when she was seen wincing and doubled over in pain while clutching her bump.

When news of the baby was announced, Kym spoke to The Sun about the storyline: 'I have never had to do it before so I think it will be a bit weird, a bit bizarre. I spend all my time trying not to have any bumps! I’ve been told they are comfortable.

Oh dear! Elsewhere in the festive filming was Michelle's cousin-twice-removed, Johnny Connor, who runs into trouble on New Year's Eve before he is saved by resident mechanic Kevin Webster

'Michelle previously tried to push for Steve to have a vasectomy and he was refusing because she was adamant that she didn’t want anymore children and he was like: "No, but I do!". They had a really big argument about it.

'I think this is a really big turn around for Michelle and it’s all brought about by a turn of events which I can’t talk about at the moment but that is kind of what starts turning up these maternal feelings with Michelle.'
