Billy Bush takes another hit: Disgraced Today host set to lose $600k as he drops price on NYC townhouse to $8.2m a year after he purchased the pad

  • Billy Bush's New York City townhouse is on the market for $8.2million
  • He purchased the home in December for $8.8million and had originally listed it for $9million before dropping the price
  • He is now set to lose $600,000 if he is able to sell the property
  • Bush, 45, is moving back to Los Angeles after being let go from his job as an anchor on Today two months into his new position
  • The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a roof with a Jacuzzi, plunge pool and outdoor kitchen
  • 'The excavated cellar can become a fantastic movie theater, an enormous wine cellar, or a gym,' reads the home's website

Billy Bush is not only out of a job after being dropped from Today last week, but also hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Curbed reports that the disgraced morning show host has dropped the price on his 7,248-square-foot townhouse in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood to $8.2million as he prepares to ditch the Big Apple and return home to Los Angeles.

That is approximately $600,000 less than the $8.8million the 45-year-old threw down to purchase the swank pad just last December.

Pricey: He purchased the home in December for $8.8million and had originally listed it for $9million before dropping the price (living room with 22-foot ceilings)

Big bucks: Bush walked away with a reported $10million after exiting Today last week (above in August)

Page Six was the first to report that Bush was putting the house on the market.

He was not living in the home according to a source and had instead been staying in an apartment while gut renovation was being done on the property which was expected to take two years.

Bush's wife and three teenage daughters meanwhile had remained in Los Angeles.

The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and much, much more according to the website created for potential buyers.

'Step off the heated stoop into the sun-drenched grand parlor level, open to the back with 22 foot high ceilings. The double-height living room is open to the balcony and the garden below,' reads the site.

'The excavated cellar can become a fantastic movie theater, an enormous wine cellar, or a gym. The maisonette level is ready to become a guest suite with a bedroom and access to the patio and garden.'

Most impressive however may be the roof deck, which features a 'glamorous plunge pool, Jacuzzi, lounge area and outdoor kitchen.'

Bush first put the home on the market in April for $9million, one month before it was announced he would be taking over as anchor of the third hour of Today in August.

It is not clear is the home ever came off the market or if Bush had been hoping to sell it this entire time.

In just the past few days though the price has plummeted, dropping first to $8.5million and now $8.2million.

Bush's exit from Today came one week after he was suspended by NBC for comments he made during a 2005 Access Hollywood interview with Donald Trump.

Exact details of Bush's exit package are not known but it has been reported he walked away with $10million.

His agreement also does not include a non-compete clause, so Bush can look for jobs at rivals stations according to an individual with knowledge of the settlement agreement.

Bush had been making a reported $3.5million a year in his position at Today.

According to TMZ, NBC had been sitting on the tape in hopes of releasing it before the second debate on Sunday to have the biggest possible impact on the election.

Many executives at the network have an 'open disdain' for Trump according to the report.

That plan was changed however with Hurricane Matthew and the tape release was pushed back to Monday, a move that reportedly made at least one individual inside the organization so angry that they decided to leak the audio to The Washington Post.

A source at NBC told DailyMail.com that the network at no point tried to edit Bush out of the damning tape, despite reports to the contrary that have emerged over the past few days.

In the tape, Bush can be heard calling actress Arianne Zucker, who was then on Days of Our Lives, a 'hot as s***,' and also saying nothing while Trump goes on about his co-host Nancy O'Dell.

'I did try and f*** her. She was married,' Trump tells Bush on the tapes, the transcript of which was first published by The Washington Post on Friday.

'And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, "I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture."'

Trump went on to say: 'I moved on her like a b****, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married.

'Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.'

Bush later apologized, but according to one insider that was not enough for the network.

'What is stunning is how self-important Billy is. He bragged about this in Rio and many people believe Access Hollywood management knew about this for much longer than they are saying and they were protecting Billy while not doing the right thing and informing NBC News,' the source told DailyMail.com.

That individual went to to say that Bush was 'never a fit' for the program.

'What angers a lot of people is that before Billy even started on the show, he was trying to position himself as the heir to Matt, but he’s not even close to being in Matt’s league. Billy is a presenter, not a journalist and NBC was never going to let that happen,' said the source.

Bush released a statement shortly after the 2005 tape surfaced three weeks ago.

'Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago. I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry,' said Bush, who was 33 at the time.

Zucker, the Days of Our Lives actress who Bush referred to as 'hot as s***' also released a statement at that time.

'My name is Arianne Zucker and I am a strong, independent, hard working mother, business woman and partner to a great man. I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect the value of my self worth or define the content of my character,' said Zucker.

'How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect. Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it.'

She closed out her statement by saying: 'In understanding the magnitude of this situation, I choose to stand tall with self respect and use my voice to enrich, inspire and elevate the best of who we are as people.'

Bush also did a poor job trying of distancing himself from Trump after the release of the tape.

A call to his work phone the weekend after the tape's revealed that his voicemail said: 'You've reached Billy Bush's office, he's busy making America great again, please leave a message.'
