Clipping her wings? Shanina Shaik seems to have missed a spot in the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... but Australians Bridget Malcolm and Kelly Gale confirm they will return

She graced the Victoria's Secret fashion show runway in 2011, 2012 and 2014 and 2015.

But it looks like Shanina Shaik won't be making a triumphant return to to the lingerie label's lineup during this year's show.

Meanwhile fellow Australian models Kelly Gale and Bridget Malcolm have confirmed they will will be hitting the runway, by sharing their exciting news on social media on Wednesday.

No return? It looks like Shanina Shaik won't be making a triumphant return to the Victoria's Secret Runway Show to be held in Paris this year 

Taking to Instagram, 25-year-old Shanina shared a photo of herself backstage at last year's show, and took the opportunity to congratulate model pal Jas Tookes, who will be wearing the 'Fantasy Bra' this year.

'Congrats my bestie @jastookes You made me tear up watching your surprise video #VSfantasybra #dreamscometrue (sic),' she captioned the image.

However Shanina failed to make any reference regarding herself returning to the runway show.

Her mother Kim also shared a cryptic message on Instagram, reading: '@shaninamshaik never allow one door closed to discourage you to step outside and seek other opportunities ahead. 

'Never allow people to make you feel less cause you're far from less, you're amazing! 

'I'm forever proud of the person you are and how far you've come....I'm always right beside you to guide and support you, to achieve what ever goals you wish to pursue #alwaysgotyourback#alwaysawinnerinmyeyes'.

Encouraging: Shanina's mother all but confirmed the news, sharing this message to her daughter on social media 

Shanina was the fifth Australian stunner to appear for the luxe lingerie line when she first made her appearance in 2011.

Other local stunners who have hit the runway include Miranda Kerr, Jessica Hart, Elyse Taylor, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Sarah Stephens.

The following year Shanina appeared in print campaigns for the company, sporting some seriously sultry bras and briefs from the latest collection and also hit the catwalk again for the runway show.

In 2014 she made an appearance on the catwalk at the brand's annual fashion show, and did so once again last year, while sporting sophisticated butterfly wings. 

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Shanina's representatives for comment.

Meanwhile this will be the second time that Australian model Bridget Malcolm walks the catwalk at the show.

On Wednesday the 24-year-old shared a snap of her and model Kelly Gale on Instagram, alongside the caption: 'When you're shaking so much post @victoriassecret show casting but luckily the only photo in focus is cute AF... so excited to be sharing this adventure with one of my favorite people!! @kellybellyboom next stop Paris #vsfsparis (sic)'. 

Kelly, 21, also expressed her excitement.

She shared a solo snap of herself on the Victoria's Secret runway last year, along with the caption: 'Paris Baby- I'm coming for you! Aaaaaaah a dream come true once again, It's such an incredible feeling to be able to tell you guys that I am back For my third VSFS this year.

'Thank you @victoriassecret @ed_razek @johndavidpfeiffer @10magazine and Monica Mitro for giving me this opportunity and for believing in me! And thank you, all 474 000 of you, for your endless support! This is going to be legendary, I can't wait!!! #VSFS16 #victoriassecret #croissants (sic).'  

The 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will be held in Paris on December 5.
