Amber Tamblyn announced on Wednesday she was pregnant with her first child.

The next day her longtime friend and Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants co-star Blake Lively shared a first photo of the beauty's bump on Instagram. She also included a photo of Amber as a young child with her mother.

Lively captioned the post: 'So proud of my dear friend, and new mama to be, @amberrosetamblyn.'

Blake also quoted Amber's essay published on Glamour.com.

'I am asking you to rethink women, period. Go deep. See the frame that holds the big picture.'

Lively then said, 'Whatever your beliefs, one thing is certain, the world must be a better, safer place for women and girls.'

Tamblyn is expecting a daughter with husband David Cross, 52, who she wed in 2012 after dating for five years.

Also in her essay Amber talked about how she was sexually assaulted by an ex boyfriend.

She then said her mother had a similar story.

'Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon,' she wrote.

'I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into. Will I get a phone call from my daughter someday, one she never wanted to make? Will I have to share with her my story, and the story of her great-grandmother’s words to her grandmother?'

Tamblyn then mentioned the current political climate.

'Is it possible to protect her from inheriting this pain? How much do I have to do, as a daughter and a soon-to-be mother, to change not just the conversation about how women are seen, but the language with which conversations are spoken in?' she wrote.

'I’ve been thinking about motherhood a lot lately. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, what it means to know one, what it means to make decisions as one and have conversations as one,' she added.

This essay comes just one week after the 33-year-old star appeared to have padded her tummy to impersonate Presidential candidate Donald Trump during an episode of Lip Sync Battle.
