As well as shielding her eyes from the autumn sunshine with dark shades, she naturally accessorised with her £200,000 art deco engagement ring with a three-carat Asscher-cut diamond at its centre.
Meanwhile, James opted for smart casual in a slim fitting dark jacket and jeans.
Accompanying the pair on the walk were Pippa's cocker spaniel Rafa and James's black labrador.

The couple have reportedly set a date for the big day and will reveal all to family and friends around Christmas time.
Pippa is having some luxurious ‘Save The Date’ invitations made, which will be sent to loved ones inside their festive cards.

The couple became engaged in the Lake District less than a year after Pippa began properly dating the handsome hedge fund manager, 40, who is the brother of Made In Chelsea's Spencer Matthews.
James asked Pippa’s father for permission for his daughter’s hand before popping the question, which apparently took the former party planner completely by surprise.
However it's not been all plain sailing for the couple, as Pippa revealed that James has had to adjust to being in the public eye.
'I have had a few years of being in the public eye and I have developed something of a thick skin,' she said.
'But managing it all on my own has been quite hard. I have quite a lot thrown at me, such as being followed by people hiding behind cars and jumping out with cameras. It can be unnerving.'
Unlike her sister, she doesn't have any security guards or media minders.
'There's always something cropping up and that has to be managed on my own.
'It's been a real eye-opener for James. There have been quite a few hurdles to negotiate.'
