NCIS star Mark Harmon's dog attacks crew member on set

Mark Harmon's dog has reportedly attacked one of his NCIS crew members.

The 65-year-old actor brought his rescue pup Dave to the dog-friendly set of the crime TV show last week when the incident happened.

TMZ reports that the injured crew member was roughhousing with Dave, as he often does, but this time the pup got scared and attacked.

Mark's dog is a three-year-old pit bull mix that he often brings to work, as other crew members regularly do.

Sources told the website the crew member needed 16 stitches on his wounds but returned to set and is fine.

Dave is also doing fine but hasn't been back to the set.

Insiders say that the pooch acted out of self defense during a roughhousing session when he got scared and attacked. The crew member needed 16 stitches but is doing fine

Harmon stars as former U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and Scout-Sniper turned NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the CBS series.

The actor is one of the original cast-members, joining the show for its debut season in 2003.

He's been married to actress Pam Dawber (Mork & Mindy) since 1987 and the couple have two sons together, Sean, 28 and Ty, 24.
