Chris Pine sports long hair and scruffy grey beard as he takes his vintage Porsche out for a spin

He is known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek.

But on Thursday, Chris Pine traded the USS Enterprise for a vintage sports car as he was spotted behind the wheel of a classic 1964 Porsche in Los Angeles traffic.

The 36-year-old actor sported longer locks and a scruffy grey beard while taking his forest green ride out for a spin.

Chris looked laid back in a long-sleeved white shirt and a slim-fit pair of black jeans which showed off his trim physique. 

The hunky star added a pop of color to his relaxed look with a pair of bright red high-top trainers. 

He styled his lengthy brunette tresses with a middle part and failed to trim up his speckled grey facial hair.

Chris added a retro pair of designer sunglasses to his look which complemented his vintage ride.

During his joy ride, the Star Trek Beyond actor made a quick stop to grab some reading materials from a Hollywood magazine stand. 

He appeared to be enjoying his drive as he left the windows down in his sports car and stuck his tongue out. 

This comes soon as it was announced the busy actor will be starring in the new film adaptation of the novel A Wrinkle In Time.

Chris recently finished work on the much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie, which is due for release next year.

The actor is portraying Wonder Woman's love interest Steve Trevor, while Gal Gadot is playing the superhero after her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. 

Chris is also set to reprise his role as Captain James T. Kirk in another Star Trek movie.

The latest film in the saga, Star Trek Beyond, was released in the summer and this year has also seen Chris star in Hell Or High Water and The Finest Hours.
