'Whisk by': She said most high school boys ignore her in favor of other girls

Jazz said that although some boys want to date girls with male genitalia, she claimed in an article for the website that 'the majority won't'.

She wrote: 'Your average straight cis-gender teenage boy isn't going to pursue a relationship with a trans-girl.

'Even if he does find her attractive, it could be social suicide if he acts on his feelings.'

She said boys flirt with her female friends but to her they 'whisk by me as if I don't exist'.

In middle school she would run away when her classmates suggested playing Spin The Bottle - the party game where participants are expected to kiss each other - unless it was a group of transgender children.

But she said none of her transgender friends live in her state and the only publicly transgender girl in her school.

Hopeful: But Jazz said that she recently went on a successful date with a former childhood boyfriend which gave her new hope

'I'd love to meet a cute trans-boy who will be my true love, or possibly my soul mate. However, the dating pool is less than limited,' she added.

Jazz wrote: 'I've resigned myself to the fact that it will be awhile before I experience love. I'm okay.I'm a patient person. I can wait for my Prince Charming.'

Despite being prepared to wait, Jazz said she recently heard from an old friend who she said gave her fresh optimism.

A boy who she had a childhood relationship with when she was in fifth grade - until he accused her of biting him when she tried to kiss him - got in touch with her unexpectedly.

She wrote: 'I was so excited that he reached out to me. We laughed about our break-up over the kiss.'

Romance? But recently he got in touch with Jazz unexpectedly and they went on a date to a butterfly park together

Optimistic: Jazz, pictured with TV star Oprah, she said the 'risk was worth the reward' and that it went so well that she agreed to go on a second date

When they spoke on FaceTime she said she 'hardly recognized him' because he had shorter hair and a 'hint of a little mustache'.

When he asked her out on a date she said at first she was not sure because he was a boy and she was 'afraid of getting hurt'.

But she said she 'took a chance' and agreed to go on a date to a butterfly park.

She added: 'Such a beautiful place for a real first date. My hands were sweating, my stomach was making horrible noises and my heart was pounding so much that I thought I was going to pass out.'

But she said the 'risk was worth the reward' and that it went so well that she agreed to go on a second date.
