Richard Sherman put on a magical performance when he dressed up as Harry Potter for his weekly press conference.

The Seattle Seahawks cornerback even played the Harry Potter theme music on his phone as he stepped up to the podium on Wednesday, wearing a black cloak, glasses and carrying a "magic" wand.

'It’s Halloween. My son told me he wanted me to wear something, so it’s happening. It’s happening,' Sherman explained.

Sherman stayed in character throughout the press conference, maintaining that he is a wizard and not a muggle.

He also answered several Harry Potter-themed questions, revealing that his favorite book is 'The Order of the Phoenix' and that he considers himself a Gryffindor, and not a Hufflepuff.

'When you’re a wizard like we are, sometimes you have to show it to the muggles out in the world,' Sherman said. 'We’ve got a lot of wizards. My son’s a wizard...I just went to Harry Potter Land. That felt like home.'

When asked about Sunday's five quarter draw against the Arizona Cardinals,  Sherman said the game was almost as difficult as the wizarding sport of quidditch.

Sherman said Sunday's five-quarter tie game against the Arizona Cardinals was even harder than the wizarding sport of Quidditch. Sherman pictured on the left on Sunday and Daniel Radcliffe pictured on the right as Harry Potter

'Five quarters of football is pretty tough, but Quidditch, the Beaters, the Chasers, trying to hold the Golden Snitch, things like that, that’s tough,' Sherman said. 'Five quarters of football, though, in the elements, I’d say that’d take the cake.'

Sherman also revealed during the press conference that he will be taking his son, one-and-a-half-year-old Rayden, trick-or-treating on Halloween next Monday.

'He’s going to have a mask on. I’m going to have this on,' Sherman said. 'Nobody’s going to have any idea. This is all you’ve got to do. Clark Kent did it. You’ve just got to put the glasses on. Bam. No longer Richard Sherman. What’s up? Can’t even tell anymore, right?'

Sherman ended the conference by waving his wand and reciting the spell 'wingardium leviosa'.

Sherman is a noted fan of the books. In a 2014 interview with the New York Times, Sherman revealed that back when he was attending Stanford, he would go to the midnight screenings of the Potter films.
