Emilia Clarke and Conleth Hill shout and flail as they film dramatic Game of Thrones scenes with Peter Dinklage in Spain

They've been enjoying the autumnal Spanish sunshine as they film series seven of the hugely popular Game Of Thrones.

But the show's cast and crew - including Emilia Clarke, Conleth Hill and Peter Dinklage - were hard at work on Friday as they shot dramatic scenes on the cliffs of Zumaia in the Basque Country.

Emilia , who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series, was seen leaping down steps with her arms flailing as she appeared to chase Peter, who plays Tyrion Lannister.

Intense: Emilia Clarke was hard at work on Friday as she shot dramatic scenes for Game Of Thrones on the cliffs of Zumaia in the Basque Country, Spain

The actress, 30, looked every inch the Queen in her imperial cape as she ran down the steps followed by Jacob Anderson, who plays Unsullied leader Grey Worm.

Emilia was then followed by Conleth Hill, who plays Varys, and the pair appeared to share a moment of intense anguish as Conleth also held out his arms and screamed.

Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays handmaiden Missandei, also let out a shout as she trailed the Mother of Dragons in the breathtaking scenes.

Meanwhile, extras were seen rowing out over the beautiful waters of the Atlantic, followed by a film crew in a rib.

Filming in the past few days has taken place on Itzurun beach, famed for its flysch rock strata, which is one of the longest continuous examples of the geological phenomenon in the world.

The formation is a mix of hard layers (limestone and sandstone) and soft layers (clay).

Other locations for this run of shooting have also included the shoreline of La Muriola in Barrika, two hours to the West of Zumaia.

It's also believed that cast and crew will be filming on the San Juan de Gaztelugatxe islet, close to Barrika.

Filming for season seven of Game Of Thrones began last month, and is scheduled to go on until February for a mid-2017 air date.

Speaking at the Emmys last month, Emilia told MailOnline that with less than two years left of her hit show she is beginning to worry about the future.

Pristine: Filming in the past few days has taken place on Itzurun beach

'We've like had the cushiest job in TV,' she admitted. 'We're always working. No big deal. And now, yeah, we have to pay off some debts.'

Meanwhile, Kit thinks his character might be safe after being killed off and then sensationally brought back to life last season.

'I feel like one of the safest people on Thrones now,' he told The Wrap back in August.

'Maybe I shouldn’t say that. He could die next season, but I felt very safe this season.

'Because if I come back to life in Episode 2, it would be awful storytelling if you kill me in Episode 4. So I felt a bit cocky this season.'
