She was forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing last weekend with an ankle injury, so severe that she was left unable to stand.

But Laura Whitmore looked like she is well on the road to a full recovery on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Irish presenter dazzled in a gold metallic jacket and chic little black dress as she attended the Unsigned Music Awards at The Troxy in London.

The blonde beauty was on hand to host the event with Radio One's Chris Stark while Sinitta and singer  Fredrik Ferrier.

Laura looked in cheery spirits , nearly a week after being forced to pull out of the hit BBC1 show at the last minute with the painful injury, leaving her unable to perform the planned jive with partner Giovanni Pernice.

'It's quite upsetting. It was the one we were really looking forward to doing,' she told Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two earlier this week.

Ready to rumble: Laura will return to the dance floor on Saturday's episode for Strictly Come Dancing

'You spend a while doing a dance, choreographing it but we really didn't know until right up until the day whether I could dance it or not.

She added: 'I feel like there are no tears left to come out, because it wasn’t easy.'

'Gio was great and thanks to everyone as well, all the contestants, the crew they’ve given me so much support.

She explained: 'If it was up to me, I would've been on that dance floor.'

'I was like, "I'm fine, I'm fine", and they were like "But you can't dance", and I was like, "I'm fine".'

Earlier this week, Laura was given the green light to return to rehearsals but has proceeded with some caution.

'Back to training....I'm quite a bit behind and being very careful. But will try my best guys!' the blonde beauty tweeted on Wednesday.
