'We are all very excited!' Alex Gerrard reveals she is expecting her fourth child with husband Steven with sweet Twitter snap

They're proud parents of three daughters.

And now Alex Gerrard has revealed the happy news that she and husband Steven are expecting their fourth child.

Alex made the announcement on her Twitter account on Friday, sharing a sweet snap of her girls looking at an ultrascan scan photo of their new sibling.

Along with the image she wrote: 'We are all very excited for our new baby to arrive next year !! number 4.'

Alex and Steven, who wed in 2007 after five years of dating, are already parents to Lilly-Ella, 12, Lexie, 10 and Lourdes, five.

The family divides their time between the UK and US - where Steven plays for LA Galaxy.

The former Liverpool player was renting a luxury £18m mansion in Los Angeles for his family as he settled himself into the team, however, he could soon be turning his back on the game for good.

Last year he signed an 18-month contract with the club but hinted he will retire soon as he's found the football in America 'challenging and difficult'.

However, there's no guarantee the family will move back to England as the footballer admitted that he's fallen in love with his new home.

Talking to CNN, he said: 'There's so much to do out here for myself and my family.

'It's been a smooth transition off the pitch and hopefully this year I can be a success and then I'll go away very, very happy.

'Whatever you want to do it's available. It's just a super place to live.' 

Back in 2013 Alex revealed that she was waiting to add to her family, admitting the thought of another baby 'scares me.'  

'Not at the moment. Lourdes is getting more independent now, so the thought of another scares me,'she admitted. 

'It's finally getting easier and I'm not ready to go back to the bottles and sleepless nights just yet!'
