PICTURE EXCLUSIVE:  Drew Barrymore and ex-husband Will Kopelman seen together in public for first time since divorce

They officially ended their marriage on August 3 but remain good friends as they raise their two daughters.

And on Friday, Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman proved exes really can get along as they were seen taking a stroll in New York.

It's the first time they've been seen together in public since their divorce was finalized.

The actress and the art consultant had been friends for years before tying the knot in 2012.

Their divorce was amicable and swift with the former couple agreeing to continue joint parenting their daughters Olive, four, and Frankie, two.

When they announced their split, Drew and Will said their girls were their 'first priority' and Drew divides her time between Los Angeles and New York as she and her ex focus on raising their daughters together.

The Hollywood star and producer stepped out in blue jeans and a blue jacket with a large black and white fringed shawl under her coat.

She had a black floppy hat pulled down over her long blonde hair that was left loose and carried a black backpack.

She completed her look with tan ankle boots and appeared to be make-up free.

Chatted away: Will sported a full beard and had a flat cap pulled down over his hair and kept sunglasses on

He had a gray flat cap pulled down over his hair and sorted a full beard.

He kept sunglasses on and checked his cell phone as he walked alongside the mother of his children. 

Drew remains close not only to her third ex-husband but also to his family and late last month, she gushed about his dad Arie Kopelman whom she described as 'the ultimate grandparent'

Not only is Drew still close to Will, who was her third husband, she also remains close to his family.

In late September, she attended an Ad Week event in New York also attended by her former father-in-law Arie Kopelman and former brother-in-law Harry Kargman, who's married to Will's sister Jill.

Speaking at the event, the ET and Never Been Kissed star gushed about her children's grandpa.

'He's the grandfather of all grandfathers' she said of Arie. 78. 'He always says there's nothing overrated about being a grandparent and he is the ultimate grandparent.'

When Drew and Will separated in March, they issued a joint statement via People in which they set out their road map for the future.

'Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family,' they stated. 

'Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.'

New project: Drew is currently producing and starring in a new comedy for Netflix called Santa Clarita Diet that's set to debut on the streaming service in January
