Two parents in San Diego received a shocking letter in the mail criticizing the size of their home and claiming it is too 'tiny' for them to live in with their young boys.
Parents Mike and Kelly Brüning shared the anonymous letter they received in a Facebook post, that has now gone viral.
The couple have two young boys, ages two and four, and have lived in the two-bedroom condominium for nine years.
Their Mission Beach neighborhood is built on a strip of land that's located between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean, as the family's home is just steps away from the beach.
The letter, which was simply addressed 'Mike and Kelli', was sent by someone who only referred to themselves as the zip code for the area, '92109'.

'It's important that you know that you guys are about the most selfish parents around,' the letter reads.
'Because you like the beach, your boys are trapped in a tiny, one bedroom upstairs apartment.
'Kids need yard to play in. A swing set, or trike to ride when they want to, not just when it's convenient for you.
'I don't know this buy I doubt that either of you had to grow up under these conditions.'
In closing out the letter, the sender simply wrote, 'SHAME ON YOU'.

The parents responded with a message of their own about the letter in a post on the Facebook page they share together. They wrote, 'Sometimes harassment comes (in) simple forms'

'Now… this place just got interesting. We received this in the mail today … not everyone in 92109 is solid. Sometimes harassment comes (in) simple forms,' the parents wrote.
In speaking with DailyMail.com, Kelly said she was in complete shock when she opened the letter.
'When I first read the letter I was home alone with the kids and my husband was in flight returning home from business,' she said.
'I just was in shock and at first extremely upset trying to figure out who would have sent it.
'For a while I kept going back and forth from being upset to just really angry about the whole thing.'
The parents have received dozens of messages from family, friends and strangers who support them.

'Don't worry about IDIOTS. You both are amazing, loving parents who are raising boys who will be GREAT, well rounded people...who have the ocean as their backyard...kids don't care about the size of their house...and adults shouldn't either...what's important is the LOVE they feel...,' one message shared to the post reads.
Another person wrote, 'Oh my! That's out of control, and so narrow minded. You're great parents!'
The person who wrote the letter is still unknown, however, Mike and Kelly believe that it's someone who lives in their neighborhood since they misspelled her name on the envelope.
'I would hope that he or she can now realize as long as a home has love and you provide opportunities for your children to flourish it doesn't matter where you live. And to not be so quick to judge others,' Kelly said.
