Parents slam 'damaging' BBC sex change show aimed at six-year-olds 

The BBC has been accused of acting recklessly after targeting children as young as six with a programme about a schoolboy who takes sex-change drugs. Parents are angry that the show, available on the CBBC website, features a transgender storyline inappropriate for their children. And concerned campaigners said it could 'sow the seeds of confusion' in young minds. The programme, Just A Girl, depicts an 11-year-old's struggle to get hormones that stunt puberty, making it easier to have sex-change surgery in the future.

Leicester mother Amina Seedat punched teen girl and slapped a teaching assistant

Amina Seedat, 39, (left) lost her temper as she returned to her car after collecting her son from his primary school in Leicester. A court heard she became angry when her child was 'barged' out of the way. Seedat became verbally abusive after a teaching assistant who was with the pupils told her to take the matter up with college bosses. She then punched out with her car keys in her hand and struck a 16-year-old girl in the forehead - causing her to stumble backwards. The court heard Seedat flipped outside Crown Hills Community College (right) in Leicester as students were leaving for the day at 3.15pm on May 19 this year.

England's oldest hotel Royal Clarence Hotel is destroyed  by fire in Exeter

The Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter caught alight shortly after 5am on Friday, and 110 firefighters were brought in to tackle the flames. It was pictured this morning as a charred wreck. Cordons are to remain around Cathedral Green for a second day as residents are warned to consider travel plans. Police have said they are bringing in a drone to assess the structure of the building. ‘Put it all out on the table’: Hillary ramps up her war with FBI director Comey

Hillary Clinton took her war against FBI Director James Comey right to her own supporters Saturday, bringing up the freighted issue of her email scandal and the FBI's investigation at a rally in Daytona Beach. She took on Comey head-on a day after he released a letter announcing that the bureau was examining new emails connected to its investigation into the former secretary of state. The Democratic candidate was in Florida notably without her longtime aide Huma Abedi, who remained home in New York, after the online sexting habits of her husband, Anthony Weiner, upended her longtime boss's presidential campaign. 'If you're like me, you probably have a few questions about it,' Clinton told a crowd of about 800 at a community center. 'It is pretty strange. It's pretty strange to put something like that out with such little information, right before an election,' Clinton said. The crowd booed at the first mention of the FBI issue. 'In fact, it's not just strange it's unprecedented and it's deeply troubling,' Clinton said. Clinton had first gone after Comey Friday in a surprise press conference just hours after the news broke, just days before the November 8 election.
