House of Cards' Molly Parker files for divorce seven years after separating from husband

House of Cards star Molly Parker is finally divorcing her estranged husband Benedict Matthew Bissonnette seven whole years after their separation.

According to TMZ - Los Angeles-based Bissonnette filed for divorce from the Canadian 44-year-old citing the celeb favourite 'irreconcilable differences' in court documents.

The 50-year-old director is requesting joint custody of the couple's 10-year-old son William Strummer Bissonnette, and asked the court that neither pay spousal support.

The Emmy nominee and her ex-beau - who's directed films such as Passenger Side, Who Loves the Sun and Looking for Leonard - tied the knot in 2002.

Parker's career remains scorching, as she recently was inked to a lead role in the Netflix remake of Lost in Space, playing Maureen Robinson, who June Lockhart portrayed in the CBS series that ran from 1965 until 1968.  

The busy performer can currently be seen as Callie Senate in David E. Kelley's legal drama Goliath, which began streaming October 16 on Amazon.

The Deadwood beauty also plays Dr. Sheila Smith in Ewan McGregor's directorial debut American Pastoral, which finally hits UK theaters November 11.

Meanwhile, Benedict made local headlines in Montreal last year when he revealed he was sexually abused as a child by John Garland, a man who coached his hockey team (who died in 2012).

At the time, Bissonette told Global News that he planned on suing the Montreal suburb of Westmount where authorities allegedly 'accused him of fabricating the claims' twice.
