Where can I find the list of Online Training Series that NFPA offers?

All of NFPA’s Online Training Series are in our online catalog. You can register for any of these series or individual courses from a series from this section of the online catalog.

Each course is listed is on the catalog page. Simply click the title that you would like to attend and you will see a tab for the series description, as well as individual tabs for each individual course description.

Are there any special system requirements to Online Training content?

Accessing Blackboard requires that you have Java installed. Make sure you have the correct version of JAVA installed on your computer. To see if you have the correct version of JAVA installed visit Blackboard Collaborate’s Java and follow the directions there.

What are the audio requirements for Online Training?

Ensure all speakers are plugged in prior to launching the Blackboard Collaborate and make sure no other programs are using your sound card, rebooting your computer typically forces any programs grabbing control of your audio device to stop. Next confirm you have the correct Audio Output device selected from within Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing, you are able to select your output device by doing the following:

Select output device from within audio/video preferences dialog

  • Launch web conferencing session
  • Select Tools
  • Select Audio
  • Select Speaker Settings…
  • You will now be presented with the Speaker Settings preferences dialog.
  • From the list, select the audio output device you would like to use.
  • Select Apply
  • Select OK, to save your changes and closes the dialog box.

Note: You will be in listen only mode.

How can I access my Online Training? 

You will need to navigate to the course through your NFPA profile. Once you enter the course, click on content.
