Karl Stefanovic and estranged wife Cassandra's Sydney home hits the market for $4 MILLION - just a month after they split

Today Show host Karl Stefanovic and his wife Cassandra Thorburn have listed their family home for sale.

The palatial property, on Sydney's north shore, was officially put on the market on Thursday, a month after the couple ended their 21 years of marriage.

The five-bedroom home, with a sprawling garden and a swimming pool, has a price guide of $3.5million to $4million.

According to Domain, there was a recent bank valuation on the property, adding to rumours of a potential sale

Advertising material described the house as 'perfectly positioned over 920 square metres of level land, taking full advantage of northerly aspect in a quiet and enviable location on the east side'.

It features formal lounge and dining rooms with a sun room, a music room and study, teen quarters upstairs and a private outdoor sitting area. 

It was reported in September Stefanovic had separated from Thorburn, a former ABC journalist, after 21 years of marriage.

It is understood the Logie winning presenter moved out of the family home, and is staying with relatives. 

Stefanovic and Thorburn bought the house in 2010 for $2.3million, and have extensively renovated it.

The house is listed for sale with agent John Tower from Tower and London, in North Sydney.

The pair bought the 1915 Federation bungalow in 2010 for $2.3million after selling their first home that year for $1.285million 

The property has a master bedroom with two part ensuite and a marble fire place

Stefanovic and Thorburn first met in the mid '90s while he was working for WIN Television and she was at ABC radio in Rockhampton.

Stefanovic previously told The Age their first encounter was 'at a Melrose Place party' over 20 years ago, adding: 'She told me I looked preppy.'

He also claimed last year Cassandra quit her job at the ABC to look after their three children. 

'She gave up a promising career at the ABC and I'm forever thankful and tremendously appreciative of that,' Karl said.
