A woman who claims she was raped by Donald Trump when she was a 13-year-old girl abruptly cancelled a press conference at which she was set to reveal herself for the first time on Wednesday - saying she was 'too afraid' following a series of 'threats' against her.

'Katie Johnson' - referred to as Jane Doe in a lawsuit she has filed - claims presidential hopeful Trump raped her at one of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's notorious 'sex parties' in 1994.

The papers offer no corroborative evidence.

LA civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom (left), who represents 'Katie Johnson' - the name given to the alleged victim - appeared at the press conference to explain 'Johnson's' absence

Los Angeles civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom, who now represents Katie, called members of the media to her office after earlier announcing that 'Jane Doe' would 'break her silence' and 'speak out about her allegations.'

But at 3pm, as dozens of media outlets crammed in to a conference room at the attorney's law offices in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, Bloom cancelled the event, claiming that her client had received threats.

She said: 'I have bad news. Jane Doe has received numerous threats today as have all the Trump accusers that I have represented.

'She is living in fear. She has decided that she is too afraid to show her face.

'She has been here all day ready to do it but unfortunately she is in terrible fear so we are going to have to reschedule.

'I apologize to all of you who came for this inconvenience I have nothing further to add.'

'Katie' - also not her real name - had been expected to face the media and lay out what she claims happened to her.

Her allegations first emerged in a lawsuit filed in California in April this year - months before a flurry of other claims of sexual assault were leveled at Trump.

In what was said to be fear for her safety Katie remained hidden from view.

Katie alleges in the court documents that Trump took her virginity, forced her in to role-play sex and claims that he and financier Epstein treated her as a 'sex slave' on four separate occasions during an 'horrific' summer in 1994.

The original lawsuit was refiled in June under Jane Doe.

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2006 and accused of sexual abuse by 40 different women, with many alleging they were teenagers at the time, some younger than 14.

Trump's associates have in the past downplayed the relationship between him and Epstein.

In February Trump brought up Epstein and noted how Bill Clinton was a friend of the now convicted pedophile.

Clinton has 'a lot of problems coming up in my opinion with the famous island with Jeffrey Epstein. A lot of problems,' Trump told the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Clinton flew in Epstein's private airliner and traveled around Africa with him, before the financier was convicted of a single child sex offense – soliciting an underage prostitute - in a plea deal.

Trump distanced himself from the financier, who he had said in 2001 he was friendly with. The Clintons have passed no comment on Bill's friendship with him.
