No monkey business! Christian Bale goes incognito in gorilla costme as he spends Halloween trick-or-treating with his wife and two kids

As a board member of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, his costume was certainly fitting. 

And on Halloween on Monday, Christian Bale went trick-or-treating with his family in Santa Monica, dressed as the large species himself. 

Daughter Emmeline was quite the daddy's girl, as she also dressed in an animal costume, though a characterized version.

While he and his daughter chose animal life, wife of sixteen years Sibi Blazic, 46, and their son, set their eyes on the ocean waters. 

The pretty brunette was the captain of the ship, while little Joseph, two, was a pirate.

The tiny tot, dressed in a striped sweater, a cape and a hat, appeared to be the most excited of the foursome.

When Christian is not enjoying quality time with his family, he is working to support them. 

The Dark Knight star has a packed schedule up until 2018. 

The Academy Award winner stars as a journalist in the historical drama, The Promise. 

The film, set during the Armenian Genocide, tells of a love triangle involving an AP journalist (Christian), a medical student and an Armenian woman.

The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year. A release date has not been set.

The Little Women actor recently completed the drama, Weightless, set to hit theaters on March 17, 2017. 

Christian will again be a part of a love triangle set in Austin's music scene.  The movie also stars Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling, Cate Blanchett, and Michael Fassbender, among others.

The actor will join Rosamund Pike and Stephen Lang in the western, Hostiles, and will star as Bagheera in the 2018 film, Jungle Book.
