From ghost sightings of Anne Boleyn at the Tower of London to the White Lady in Bradford: The UK's most haunted attractions revealed

For fans of spooky attractions and ghoulish delights, there are plenty of destinations in the UK that claim to be haunted which can be visited this Halloween.

But it may surprise you to discover how many of these places are home to female apparitions. 

For example, there's one village in Kent where there are no less than four different ghostly ladies haunting the locals and tourists, while historic figure Anne Boleyn is said to roam the Tower of London and a White Lady has reportedly been spotted in Bradford.

The South East

In a new infographic, Voucherbox has revealed the scary attractions to visit and the tales of sorrow behind them.

The South East is revealed to be one of the scariest regions and the village of Pluckley is identified as being one of the most haunted spots.

There are no less than four 'ladies' haunting the village and three of these are connected to the Dering family according to the legends. 

London

As well as famously being haunted by Anne Boleyn, the second of King Henry VIII's many wives, it's also supposedly home to the ghost of Arabella Stuart, a lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth I.

But ghostly apparitions have also been spotted at The Savoy Hotel and St Botolph's Church.

Midlands and the East 

Dudley Castle for example, is said to be one of the most haunted castles in the world - where the Grey Lady roams its ruins

The West Country and Wales

While the White Lady, Margaret Pomeroy, died in tragic circumstances according to the legends, the Blue Lady appears to have a more sinister story. 

But for one of the most haunted places in Britain is found in Wales in the shape of the Llancaiach Fawr Manor. 

Scotland and Northern Ireland

One is said to be a Lady who had wanted to be buried at the home after she died while another was, according to legends, starved to death.

But they may not be as scary as the hauntings at Airth Castle, where several ghosts are said to roam.
