'She loves Yorkshire pudding': Zayn Malik gives a rare insight into his home life with Gigi Hadid... and hints he smokes weed for breakfast

She is the world's most in-demand supermodel, he is the enigmatic bad boy of pop.

But Zayn Malik has revealed he spends all his spare time with girlfriend Gigi Hadid and loves nothing more than to cook for her.

The former One Direction star has spoken to ES Magazine and candidly given an insight into his life with the Victoria's Secret stunner.

Dating since last year, the pair unofficially live together - and she's a huge fan of his home county's special dishes.

He says: ‘We haven’t officially swapped keys or anything yet, we live together wherever we are... (I make her) steak and potato pie, Sunday roast dinner and Yorkshire pudding... Yeah, she likes a good Yorkshire pudding.’

Talking about how he met the catwalk queen, he approached her at a Victoria's Secret party and asked her out after recognising her from a picture.

Talking about their date at the Bowery Hotel, he revealed: 'It were really nice. She’s a very intelligent woman.

He's a fan: Talking about how he met the catwalk queen, he approached her at a Victoria's Secret party and asked her out after recognising her from a picture, insisting she's 'classy' and 'intelligent' 

'She knows how to carry herself. She’s quite classy and that. She’s not, like, arrogant in any way, she’s confident. She carries it well. She’s cool.’

The pair also spend their time singing together: 'She’s got a nice voice, I like her voice.’

Talking about how he keeps his creative juices flowing the star - who has battled anxiety - admits he believes smoking marijuana helps.

'Weed is also a part of my life for certain things,’ the singer continued. ‘I find it helps me be creative. Some people say it kills your ambition, some people say it destroys your personality. Personally I haven’t had any of them experiences yet.

When quizzed if he lit up at breakfast, he adds while grinning: 'I don’t think I’m allowed to specify — don’t get me arrested.’

Opening up about his anxiety - which has prevented him from performing as a solo act - he reveals he turns to his mum, dad and manager for advise and to talk about his feeling, and wishes he had waited a few more years before trying to hit the bigtime. 

Talking about auditioning for the X Factor, he admitted: ‘I was very ignorant at 17 — blind beyond my years. I thought going on X Factor meant you won a million pounds and got a contract at the end of it... I probably wouldn’t have [signed] — I would’ve waited a couple more extra years. Just so I had that time to just get my head around being a famous person. I’ve never been able to have... anonymity.’
