'Just sing the f***ing song!' Delta Goodrem left red-faced after longtime pal Molly Meldrum snaps at singer during her Melbourne show

Delta Goodrem once acknowledged that longtime pal Molly Meldrum is extremely 'passionate about music.'

And that was made apparent on Thursday, when the 73-year-old bluntly dropped the f-bomb while addressing the crowd at Delta's child-friendly Wings of The Wild show in Melbourne.

Pop singer Delta, 31, had just wrapped up a set when she spotted veteran record producer Molly in the crowd and his rather impolite request for a repeat performance left many in the audience stunned.

Awkward: Molly Meldrum, 73, bluntly dropped the f-bomb while addressing the crowd at Delta Goodrem's child-friendly Wings of The Wild show in Melbourne

'Do you want that song again?' Molly asked the roaring crowd before struggling to name the song.

'Yes! Play it again ... the one before…that one…right? Come on.'

Attempting to save him from the awkward moment, Delta interjected.

'Just sing the f***ing song!' Veteran music producer Molly demanded that Delta, 31, repeat a song although he struggled to name which one

'Do you mean 'Just Call'?' the songstress asked - to which he snapped: 'Just sing the f***ing song!'

While Molly's foul language came as a shock to Delta's fans, their long history suggests that his comments were made in jest.

Delta, who received emotional support from Molly when she battled cancer in the early 2000s, once hailed the media personality as an inspiration during a Logies tribute in 2012.

'He was there for me in my earliest years and in my darkest moments.'

The beauty's next tour stop will be Adelaide Entertainment Centre on November 5, followed by Perth Arena on November 8 and Brisbane Convention Centre November 11.
