'It feels like a fresh start for you,' presenter Matt Baker said to Cheryl referring to her divorce from second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini two weeks ago.

'Just Cheryl. I am, I'm great, really well,' she said, as she appeared on the screen wearing a loose-fitting black jumpsuit.

Sources told MailOnline at the time: 'She’s relieved she can finally move on with her life. She’s the happiest she’s been in a long time.

'Last year was a terrible year and she’s a completely different person now.'

Sitting opposite pregnant TV presenter Alex Jones, Cheryl took the time to reflect on her childhood, candidly confessing that she was very 'depressed as a teenager'.

'I would not go back to my teenage years for love nor money,' she admitted. 'I really want to help young people, for the next generation to have hope and opportunity.'

Cheryl admitted: 'I was a general worrier [as a child]. I would worry about the world if I saw something on the news. I was quite a depressed teenager.'

Asked about her strife as a young person, she added: 'I grew up with nothing. Life isn't perfect. It isn't the Instagram photos and what you see on social media. You are going to have hardship.'

On her advice for her younger self, she added: 'I would have told myself to relax and not to worry so much, to talk about how you're feeling. Whatever you're going through, you will get through it.'

Lauding the former Girls Aloud singer with compliments, Esther said: 'This is why [Cheryl] is such a wonderful ambassador for young people.

'People think she's rich, beautiful and she has everything - but it's the honesty that shines through,' Esther said.

Show of support: Fans took to social media to enthuse about how happy and healthy she looked and what an eloquent interview she gave

It was in response to an announcement from The One Show's Official Twitter page, which said: 'TONIGHT! Esther Rantzen & @CherylOfficial talk about #Childline'

Confirming the line-up, it also continued: '@chrishoy has a new book, and @RebeccaFMusic plays live! 7pm @BBCOne'

Her appearance was announced during a teaser for the BBC talkshow on Tuesday, naturally sending her fans overboard with excitement.

The Fight For This Love hitmaker has previously remained coy about her alleged pregnancy despite showing off a rounded stomach and deliberately dodging photocalls at public events.

She has also largely been keeping out of the spotlight since the rumours came to light; further adding fuel to the file when she pulled out of an appearance at the Pride Of Britain Awards on Monday.

The star announced her absence on Twitter by sharing her disappointment with fans.

She said: 'Gutted I couldn't make the #prideofbritain awards tonight. One of my favourite awards!. Good luck to all the nominees you're all amazing.'

However, whilst she may not have been at the ceremony, she was still a hot talking point on the day, with Olly Murs refusing to talk about the songstress.

The X Factor star told The Mirror: 'I'm sure when they feel confident and want to come out and tell everyone they will.

'It's their own business and I'm sure they'll be fantastic parents if they are, so I wish them all the best.'

Skipped a beat: Olly Murs recently dodged a question about Cheryl's alleged pregnancy but said the couple would make 'fantastic parents'

Meanwhile, Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh told the site 'thanks,' when asked to pass on her congratulations, neither confirming nor denying rumours.

Kimberley's comments as she - who herself is pregnant with her second child -  told the Daily Star's TV Life magazine about Cheryl's happiness.

The Promise hitmaker revealed: 'Yes, I'm really happy that she's happy.

'I don't really want to go into too much detail on that because I feel it's something that she should speak about, but to know she's happy makes me happy.'

Speculation went into overdrive when Cheryl's mother Joan Callaghan was seen buying pregnancy goods in a branch of Mothercare - heightening rumours the star is pregnant with Liam's child.

The 57-year-old, who is famously extremely close to her daughter, was seen purchasing what appeared to be two white pillows designed specifically for expectant mothers.

The stunning singer, who has been dating the One Direction hunk, 23, since February this year, has been at the centre of speculation, particularly among fans.

Fans also went wild after Liam changed his Twitter bio to say he is 'the happiest man in the world', debating whether this could be a hint that Cheryl is pregnant.

Liam first laid eyes on Cheryl in 2008 when he auditioned for the X Factor but failed to make it through to the live shows.

Two years later at the age of 16, he appeared on the series again and joined forces with fellow solo singers to create One Direction, but it wasn't until February that they decided to embark on a romance.

During Liam's time on the show, Cheryl was married to her now ex-husband Ashley Cole. She went on to remarry with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014, and announced their separation earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Liam dated his childhood sweetheart Sophia Smith for two years before they split in October 2015.

Cheryl and her ex husband Jean-Bernard were granted a decree nisi in just 14 seconds last month, after the songstress allegedly knew after five months the marriage was over.

The duo wed in secret in summer 2014 after a three-month romance yet their union came to an end with their ill-fated marriage ended in just 14 seconds where neither party was in attendance.

Their divorce comes 10 months after their separation was announced. It also marks a year since they were last seen in public together last October.

The couple had been married for just 18 months but living apart for five months by the turn of 2016, splitting on their secret second wedding anniversary.
