After Honey sailed through to another round of the show whilst other more conventional acts ended up facing elimination, a slew of hateful tweets flew the rapper's way.

The wannabe, real-name Anna Georgette Gilford, was targeted by the likes of @napalm_death15 who wrote:

'@The_Honey_G f***ing kill yourself you c***, you can't f***ing rap to save your worthless life.'

Another user, @NarniaCFC, wrote: ' Somebody needs to shoot Honey G now!! Shes' ruining one of my favourite songs of my childhood.'

'There's a midlife crisis and then there's Honey G - please will someone shoot her!' wrote @Clairebear91xx echoing the sentiment.

This isn't the first time Honey has angered fans with her performances, which many feel should have seen her dropped at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.

Jumping for joy: Honey didn't even find herself in the bottom two, and was delighted with a guaranteed place on the show's tour - though many were evidently angered

The hateful storm of tweets came flying Honey's way after Gifty Louise was sent packing on Sunday night's episode.

But while fans of the show were left in shock at the turn of events, Gifty, 20 - who faced girlband Four Of Diamonds in the sing-off - expressed her belief that she never really stood a chance in the competition during an emotional interview on Good Morning Britain on Monday.

'I feel like they had made up their mind already': Gifty, 20, expressed her belief that she never really stood a chance in the competition during an emotional interview on GMB on Monday

The singer's claims come after social media went into uproar when the aspiring star's own mentor, show boss Simon Cowell, 57, accidentally opted to send her home instead of Four Of Diamonds.

Speaking on Monday morning, Gifty said: 'I feel like the judges had already made up their mind.

'I feel like I was consistent every single week, but I wasn't confident about the song choice.

'I didn't feel too great about doing a third Fifth Harmony song, I was worried it would be too predictable. '

It's my fault! Simon was insistent he was to blame over the incident and Gifty has said he has apologised to her directly

She also said that Simon has since apologised to her following his gaffe.

However, she had a positive tone when talking about the experience.

She said: 'I am grateful for the opportunity. I made it to the final three girls, so I am chuffed.

'I was hoping to get on tour. This is serious for me. I want to get a career out of it.'

Richard Arnold asked her how she felt about the so-called 'joke act' Honey G still being in the competition, when she came ninth.

She said of the judges: 'I feel like they had made up their mind already. I wish it had gone to the public vote. I am crushed. I'm still shocked. It hasn't sunk in yet.'

Gone: Gifty was the fourth person voted off this year's The X Factor

'She is an entertainer and people have fun when they watch her,' she said.

'She has a huge fanbase and I'm not surprised she made it through. I don't hold it against her.'

Gifty revealed that she would rather the vote had gone to deadlock rather than be in the hands of the judges.

She said: 'I feel like they had made up their mind already. I wish it had gone to the public vote. I am crushed. I'm still shocked. It hasn't sunk in yet.'

Fuming: She failed to raise a smile during the interview, which highlighted how she was feeling - but she did say she was 'thankful for the experience'

It's not all bad: Gifty raised a smile as she posed for pictures backstage, wearing a black leather jacket and jeans

It sounds like she may have a point.

Twitter went wild for her sudden departure, questioning why the judges made the decision they did.

@Laylabushara said: 'How is honey g still in the X factor over gifty Louise'

@beautybykl_ added: 'x factor uk has my blood boiling.. IT'S NOT EVEN RELEVANT TO ME BUT I'M SO INVESTED WHY DID THEY SEND GIFTY HOME FFS.'

Not happy: Twitter went wild for the shock result as X Factor fans rushed to show their support for Gifty

@TyceVincent wrote: '@GMB @GiftyLouise the x factor is not the same as it used to be and I think gifty Louise did not deserve to be booted off.

@Beckolas said: '@GMB X Factor is a complete joke. Even the judges seem to have lost interest! Gifty was wonderful. Who is actually voting for Honey G??'

@WillJWoodward_  added: 'Still can't over that Gifty left X factor.. She's so modern and better than everyone else.'

Saddened: Her supporters really hit back at the decision to see her leave the show before Honey G

And @Perry5Catherine wrote: 'X FACTOR !!! Absolute rubbish ,,, Honey G ? If she's better than Gifty I need a hearing test ,Simon Cowell he's a joke.'

Gifty Louise appeared on the Lorraine show shortly after where she echoed her sentiments.

She also said: 'I was quite upset with Sharon [Osbourne] and Nicole [Scherzinger]'s decision. They gave me a standing ovation and then gave me a "no".'

On Sunday night, Gifty became the fourth person voted off this year's The X Factor.

Simon Cowell fell foul to the anxious atmosphere at The X Factor live show as he accidentally attempted to send home his own act during the judge's decision.

The 57-year-old head honcho was first to choose between his singer and Louis Walsh's girl group Four Of Diamonds when he said the wrong name before gushingly apologising to audiences and exasperated host Dermot O'Leary.

Simon was disappointed to find Gifty in the bottom two for the second week in a row and appeared lost in the moment when he was asked by Dermot which act he would like to sent home.

His immediate response was 'Gifty' before realising he was supposed to state who he wants to send home rather than which act he wanted to save.

He quickly retracted his statement saying: 'No! I'm not sending Gifty home, I'm sending the girls home' before Dermot rolled his eyes and reiterated: 'Just to recap... The name of the act you're sending home'.

Personally responsible: As she appeared downtrodden while talking to host Dermot O'Leary, her mentor Simon Cowell took the blame as he said: 'It's not you, it's me. I shouldn't have given you that song'

A flustered Simon went on: 'Ok, rewind. The act I'm sending home... God... Four Of Diamonds' shortly before Gifty became the fourth person voted off.

When the deciding vote was left down to Sharon Osbourne, Four Of Diamonds' mentor and Sharon's best pal Louis Walsh repeatedly whispered in her ear begging her to save the group - to which she painstakingly succumbed.

Following the devastating announcement, Gifty appeared downtrodden while talking to host Dermot O'Leary, before her mentor Simon Cowell grabbed the microphone and took the blame as he said: 'It's not you, it's me. I shouldn't have given you that song.'

Begging: When the deciding vote was left down to Sharon Osbourne, Four Of Diamonds' mentor and Sharon's best pal Louis Walsh repeatedly whispered in her ear begging her to save the group - to which she painstakingly succumbed

Gifty was first to sing as she took the stage in a stunning red jumpsuit to belt out an impassioned rendition of Ray Charles' 1970 hit A Song For You while Four Of Diamonds sang a haunting version of Christina Aguilera's The Voice Within.

When it turned to the all-important result, Simon slipped up when he said he wanted to send home his own act Gifty although quickly backtracked, realising he had confused the 12-year-old eviction system. Meanwhile Louis naturally saved his own group.

Nicole lauded Gifty's 'beautiful and moving performance' although still went on to send her home before the deciding vote was left with Sharon when Louis began begging her to save the girls in an awkward moment.

Upsetting stuff: Gifty looked devastated to hear the news - while Four Of Diamonds appeared equally shocked

In a mark of solidarity, she looked to her pal saying 'Ok' before stating she was sending Gifty home.

Before the devastating departure of Gifty, the first acts to hear they were safe were Louis' boys, Five After Midnight followed closely by Simon's delighted acts Emily Middlemas and Sam Lavery.

Nicole was relieved to discover Matt Terry was through as Sharon's first safe act to be announced was Sarra Alto before the final act to be marked safe from the dreaded bottom three was Honey G.

Left to battle it out in the final three was Four of Diamonds, Ryan Lawrie and Gifty who avidly waited for the results of the Life Line - which was eventually awarded to Ryan, who looked aghast at his saving.

Moreover, many fans have been annoyed that the singer has now been saved THREE TIMES by the lifeline vote, which was announced at the start of the series.

Viewers each get five free votes in order to give a contestant a 'lifeline' but Twitter hasn't been so kind about the result.

‏@revivalmiller said: '#XFactorResults we have now labelled the lifeline vote as the ryan vote.'

@eurovisioning said: '#XFactor they should rename the lifeline vote to 'saving ryan bc hes in the bottom 3 vote even though the votes wont count bc its a fix'

And @blessingmariee wrote: 'People always seem to save Ryan but never seem to vote for him on the night. Wish this lifeline thing didn't exist #XFactor.'

Tough spot: The judges were left in a tricky spot yet eventually all but Simon opted to save Four Of Diamonds

The whole gang: The show opened with DNCE's hit Cake by the Ocean and while contestants looked sensational Emily Middlemas appeared to risk a near slip off stage as she buckled briefly

She's back! Louisa Johnson made her triumphant return to The X Factor stage as she performed her new track So Good on Sunday night

Yes! Sharon's girls Saara Alto and Honey G were overjoyed to be put through

The show opened with a group rendition of DNCE's hit Cake by the Ocean and while contestants looked sensational, Emily Middlemas appeared to risk a near slip off stage as she buckled briefly.

Reigning champion Louisa Johnson made her triumphant return to The X Factor stage as she performed her new track So Good on Sunday night.

Bruno Mars then took the stage with his latest single 24K, where he was joined by three backing singers all clad in funky sportswear and heavy gold jewellery.
