Lady Mary as you've never seen her before! Michelle Dockery strips off for steamy sex scene in dark US drama Good Behaviour

She's best known as prim and proper Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey.

But Michelle Dockery is worlds away from her character in her new US television drama called Good Behaviour - which her con artist character is the very antithesis of.

The 34-year-old actress' racy scenes see her stripping off with handsome co-star Juan Diego Botto.

Racy: Michelle Dockery is worlds away from her character Lady Mary in her new US television drama called Good Behaviour

Michelle can be seen in the throws of passion with charming hitman Javier (played by Juan) in one particularly steamy scene.

The reviews are in for Michelle's new series, with largely positive responses to the dark and dangerous new drama following the first two episodes.

Deadline said 'it starts out as solid TV and then shifts into something far better with deft crafting', whilE Channel Guide described the show as a 'sizzling TNT thrill ride'.

The reviews are in: Michelle's new series has received largely positive responses to the dark and dangerous new drama following the first two episodes

However, it wasn't all good since the Herald Dispatch branded the programme a 'convoluted unexplainable mess'.

Michelle discussed her role as troubled single mother Letty in a recent interview, revealing she was drawn to her unapologetic nature.

'The great thing about Letty is that she is unapologetic in what she does,' Dockery told Channel Guide magazine.

Unapologetic: Michelle discussed her role as troubled single mother Letty in a recent interview, revealing she was drawn to her unapologetic nature

She said: 'That’s the difference with this female character, and what I was drawn to'

Scantily-clad: Michelle is worlds away from her prim and proper alter ego

'That’s the difference with this female character, and what I was drawn to.

'And that’s why it’s so enjoyable to watch — because she does these things and she doesn’t apologize!'

The trailer sees the clean-cut British beauty smoking, drinking, dancing in her underwear wielding a gun and even caught up in some sadistic scenes.

What would Lady Mary say? The actress dances in her underwear as she smokes a cigarette in a seedy-looking hotel room in another scene

'There's a man coming here to kill you,' are the first words of Letty Dobesh (played by Michelle) in the trailer as she stands on a stranger's doorstep after deliberately faking her own injury.

Michelle's character gets wind that a hit man has been hired to kill the woman and she sets out to derail the job.

Just out of prison Letty has been attempting to stay afloat, though she is always one wrong turn and one bad decision away from falling off the wagon.

Sexy scenes: Michelle certainly isn't so clean cut in her new role

Raunchy: She certainly seems to share some intimate scenes

Who's that girl? Michelle Dockery finally shook off her Downton Abbey alter-ego as the new trailer for her TV drama Good Behavior was released

Chilling: The former period drama star is seen wielding in a huge gun in terrifying new scenes

Unrecognisable: The actress sports a red wig (left) which is very different to her cut as Lady Mary Crawley (right)

As such, the task she's set herself sends her on a wild collision course with the charming killer, entangling them in a dangerous, seductive relationship.

In the trailer, her story begins when she impersonates a 'boring high school teacher' in a bar to seduce Javier (Juan Diego Botto).

Suddenly her crimson hair, a distinct contrast to her natural, raven locks, are disguised by a platinum wig with a poker straight style and a blunt fringe.

Timid: Michelle's character looks afraid as she perches on the end of her bed and reads her phone

Cheeky monkey: The star is seen puffing away on a cigar

Bad girl: Smoking, drinking and wielding a gun, Michelle is playing a real bad girl this time

Disguise: Later, she's seen sporting a platinum fringed wig to pretend to be someone else

Con-artist: The stunning actress, believe it or not, is trying to be her best self in the plot

Cheers to that! Michelle's character is seen downing a martini in another scene

She checks into a Motel and invites Javier back, before the duo engage in a drink-fueled night of passion that sees her waking up with a very sore head.

Letty is still striving to be 'the best me I can be' and towards the end she pours away her alcohol, makes a call to her mother and is seen trying to defend herself with a large gun.

It's a distinct change of scenery for Michelle, who is better known as the well-to-do eldest daughter of the British aristocratic Crawley family in Downton.

Sadistic: When she's trying to seduce Javier, their tryst turns sadistic

Love games: Javier is seen pouring alcohol into her mouth as he pins her down on the bed

Scenes of a sexual nature: The chilling trailer seems to be a lot more racy than anything we've seen from Michelle before

Terrifying: Things appear to turn nasty during one bedroom scene with her co-star

Filming for the internationally-acclaimed TV series wrapped in August 2015 with the final episode going out at Christmas.

She was a central character of the period drama for 52 episodes, over its five-year run and is now recognised all over the world.

Though Good Behavior is her first acting project since Downton, she also has The Sense Of An Ending and Godless on the horizon.

Which one today: The character appears to be picking out underwear

'There's a man coming here to kill you: Letty is trying to intersect a killer

The villain? Javier, who features heavily in the trailer, is played by Juan Diego Botto
