Paint the town red like Rosamund in her Roksanda trousers

Rosamund Pike cut a fashion-forward figure as she arrived at the BBC Radio 2 Studios, wearing red wide-leg trousers (a version from the Roksanda SS17 collection), teamed with a cream knit top by Neima and Nicholas Kirkwood sandals.

The devil's in the details, as they say, and this was certainly true of Rosamund's outfit (in a good way of course). From the stylish side stripe on her trousers, to the cut-out back of her top, not to mention the signature pearl embellishment on the sole of her Nicholas Kirkwood heels, the little flourishes resulted in a super stylish look.

Not only that but her outfit is bang on-trend too thanks to the wide-leg pants. Her Roksanda trousers are enough to persuade even the biggest skinny style devotees to mix it up!

The star's eye-catching trousers cinched in her slim midriff, before skimming out into a seventies-style flare.

Rosamund's blonde locks were tousled upon her shoulders and complemented her pared down make-up look.

The Oxford University graduate kept the rest of her look simple, with just a statement silver watch on her left hand, as she headed to her radio appearance on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

Rosamund will next be seen in A United Kingdom, which movingly re-creates the then-scandalous marriage between Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana and British typist grandmother Ruth Williams.

The couple caused an international stir when they married in the late 1940s.

In the inspirational film, Rosamund takes on the role of middle-class Ruth who falls for Seretse, an Oxford graduate and African king-in-waiting - played by David Oyelowo - after being introduced to him at a missionary society dance.

Their whirlwind romance and wedding wreaked havoc not only among their families, but at the highest political levels in Britain and southern Africa, where Seretse’s own Bechuanaland, now Botswana, was a longtime protectorate under British imperial rule.

Speaking of the movie on the morning radio show, Rosamund revealed: 'You see racism on both sides.

'A white woman craving to belong': Rosamund spoke about the biographical role, which saw her character met with hostility after falling in love with an African prince-in-waiting

'It's this experience of a white woman craving to belong in the black world and being greeted with suspicion and hostility. They don't want a white woman to be the mother of their tribe.

'How is she going to understand the concerns of the women? How is she going to understand the concerns of the country? But she stuck it out.'

And speaking of Ruth's defiant will, the actress gushed: 'Sometimes you get these characters where you're like "God, if I had half of this woman's guts bravery and courage, I'd be such a better person"!

'It's a wonderful love story.'

The film also stars Tom Felton, Laura Carmichael and Jack Davenport and is due for general release on November 25.
