Friday the 13th! The eight-episode dark comedy - which begins streaming January 13 - is based on Lemony Snicket's 13 YA novels of the same name

In the one-minute teaser, the three Baudelaire orphans are turned over to their unlikely and unlikeable new guardian - who's only after their inheritance.

The preview is full of characters bad-mouthing the villain, labeling him 'vile, terrible, a thief, a murderer, a wretch, horrible, and awful.'

At this, the four-time Emmy winner - whose make-up artist was Bill Terezakis - ominously warned: 'You haven't the faintest idea.'

The conniving Count character is not unlike Neil's memorable turn as supervillain in Joss Whedon's 2008 musical comedy webseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events will also feature Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, and Aasif Mandvi.

It comes 12 years after Jim Carrey played Count Olaf in the Paramount film - which garnered good reviews, $213M at the box office, and scored an Oscar for make-up.

On Halloween, Harris and his chef husband David Burtka rocked classic Hollywood-themed costumes with their six-year-old twins Gideon and Harper (born via surrogate).
