Selling like hotcakes! Johnny Depp offloads second of his Downtown Los Angeles penthouses for $3.09 million

Johnny Depp has offloaded the second of his five penthouses.

The two-storey corner unit in the iconic Eastern Columbia Building in Downtown Los Angeles was sold for $3.09 million reports LA Times.

It's the second largest of the five condos that the 53-year-old star owns in the building measuring 2,400 sq ft.

The two-bedroom unit has a rooftop garden and enclosed terrace and a very unique aesthetic inside.

The living space features green walls with vintage touches, dramatic light fittings and an entry parlor with dark hardwood floors. 

It was reported that Depp sold the first of his penthouses for $2.545 million last month.

The actor still has three available condos for sale, another 2,400 sq ft unit for $2.649 million, a 2,266 sq ft penthouse which is listed for $2.75 million and another smaller unit, 1,780 sq ft, which he wants $1.999 million for.

Johnny and ex-wife Amber Heard created a pad for themselves by combining a number of the units in the unique high-rise property.

While the Hollywood pair kept some of the penthouses separate other's were joined through secret and not-so-secret doors and passageways.

In total Johnny owned around 11,500-square-feet of the stunning art deco high rise and offered the units separately and as a package deal for $12.78 million.

According to Curbed, the first one sold, Penthouse Five, was a two bedroom, three bath on two levels and, at 2,500-square feet, is the largest.

The penthouse currently features a stunning vintage bar under an industrial stairwell.

It then opens  into a large living dining area with soaring ceilings and a galley kitchen.

As a bonus, Penthouse Five also has an outdoor patio area it does, however, have some secret passage ways to the other apartments.

The penthouses are certainly impressive and the building one of the most striking in the Downtown area which is currently experiencing a Renaissance of sorts. 

The star's home it is quite a unique living experience as Johnny kept the five adjacent penthouses largely separate and lived in them 'like rooms in a home', real estate agent Kevin Dees of Partners Trust told The Wall Street Journal.

Kevin is working with colleague Nick Segal in unloading the property which includes the remaining condo units, three two-bedrooms and one one-bedroom.

Interesting: It is quite a unique living experience as Johnny owned the five adjacent penthouses linking some and keeping others separate 

The 1930s art deco building was modernised in 2007 by The KOR Group right before Johnny picked up the properties in 2007 and 2008. 

The Pirates Of The Carribean star added doorways connecting three of the penthouses for living and entertaining spaces while the other two were an art studio and a guest suite according to the business-focused daily. 

The historic building is 13-stories and is one of the highlights of the beautiful LA skyline and may be best identified by the four-sided clock tower.

Depp has been trying to offload real estate as of late as he relisted his estate in the South of France for a whopping $56 million, which was double its previous asking price.

The actor is moving forward in his life after his divorce from Amber.

The actress filed for divorce in May, appearing in court in Los Angeles with a bruised face to seek a temporary restraining order against the Hollywood star whom she accused of abuse.

The former couple reached a settlement on August 16 in which the restraining order was dismissed.

Amber received $7 million in the settlement, which she then donated to charity. 

Depp married the 30-year-old actress, his Rum Diary co-star, in February 2015.

The pair met after his split from longtime love Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children Lily-Rose and Jack.
