Swansea 1-3 Manchester United PLAYER RATINGS:  Wayne Rooney rolls back the years while Fernando Llorente flops for the Swans

Manchester United got back to winning ways by defeating struggling Swansea and taking all three points away from their trip to South Wales.

Jose Mourinho's side, who were without a win in their last four Premier League games, stood up to their critics with big name stars Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both getting on the score sheet.

Sportsmail's Mike Keegan delivers his player ratings from the Liberty Stadium.

Manchester United finally got themselves back to winning ways in South Wales

SWANSEA CITY

Lukasz Fabianski 5.5

Powerless to prevent Pogba’s opener but could have done better with the second. Wobbly under the high ball.

Angel Rangel 5

Will not want to see Ibrahimovic’s second again. Suffered along with the rest of his defence.

Angel Rangel simply couldn't cope with the power of Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Mike van der Hoorn 6

Rose well to power his header home but his work at his own end was not as pleasing on the eye.

Alfie Mawson 6

It’s a big step up from League One but the ex-Barnsley defender was the pick of the Swans backline. Hardly an accolade.

Stephen Kingsley 5.5

Kept Mata relatively quiet and the Scot will learn from this chastening first-half experience for the hosts.

Ki Sung-Yueng 5

Spent time at a military camp in the summer but was outmuscled here by the visitors powerful midfield.

Leon Britton kept a high work rate for Swansea but saw no reward

Leon Britton 5

Worked hard but while his effort could not be faulted, fought a losing battle and was subbed with 20 minutes to go.

Wayne Routledge 4

Offered virtually no contribution in an anonymous opening 45 minutes. Yanked at the break.

Gylfi Sigurdsson 5.5

Beautiful delivery for Van der Hoorn’s header but otherwise struggled to have an impact. Will have better afternoons than this.

Fernando Llorente 4

Suffered from an absence of service and had very little impact before being substituted at half-time.

Star striker Fernando Llorente was starved of service and endured a miserable afternoon

Borja 5

Stayed on for 90 minutes but could have been a victim of the half-time changes. Not great.

Subs:

Modou Barrow (Routledge 46) 5.5 Offered some pace and creativity but the game was over by the time he came off the bench.

Jefferson Montero (Llorente 46) 5 Easily marshalled by United’s defence. Appeared frustrated.

Leroy Fer (Britton 70) 5 Crunched by Ibrahimovic for his troubles and was unable to spark an unlikely comeback.

Not used: Kristoffer Nordfelt, Jordi Amat, Jack Cork, Kyle Naughton

Manager: Bob Bradley 4

Bob Bradley is beginning to realise how much of a tough job he has on his hands at Swansea

MANCHESTER UNITED

David de Gea 6

Pipe and slippers time for the Spaniard who has had much, much tougher days at the office than this. Got a hand on Van der Hoorn’s header.

Ashley Young 6

Dependable presence at right back. Caused problems with his many, willing forward runs.

Ashley Young showed again how he has become a reliable full-back for the Red Devils

Phil Jones 6.5

His manager will have been impressed with the returning Englishman. Will face tougher opponents but gave a solid performance here.

Marcos Rojo 6.5

Gives the ball away a little too often, but was strong positionally and dealt with the very few questions the hosts asked with little fuss.

Matteo Darmian 6

Playing at left back and kept Routledge so quiet he was taken off at half-time. Barrow was more of a threat but a satisfactory showing from the Italian.

Marouane Fellaini 6.5

Matches like this, against tiny opponents, are made for the big Belgian. A menacing, physical force throughout.

Michael Carrick 7

Reassuring presence at the base of midfield. Dictated the tempo and provided a measured presence United have lacked.

Paul Pogba scored a stunning volley for United but had an otherwise quiet afternoon

Juan Mata 6.5

Neat and tidy from the little Spaniard who was able to take a back seat as his team mates dominated. Close to adding a fourth.

Paul Pogba 6.5

Stunning controlled volley for the opener but quiet in the second half.

Wayne Rooney 8

Looking more like the Rooney of old, albeit against inept opposition. Linked well with Ibrahimovic and will have enjoyed this.

Wayne Rooney rolled back the years to put in a solid shift and silence his critics

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 7.5

Neat finish for his first and strong work for his second. Against a shambles of a defence but will have enjoyed his first Premier League goals after six without scoring.

Subs:

Jesse Lingard (Mata 81) Game lost and won by the time he entered the fray.

Morgan Schneiderlin (Rooney 89)

Tim Fosu-Mensah (Pogba 90+4)

Not used: Sergio Romero, Anthony Martial, Daley Blind, Marcus Rashford,

Manager: Jose Mourinho 7

Jose Mourinho will be relieved to see his United side pick up three points again

Referee Neil Swarbrick 6.5

Star Man: Wayne Rooney
