'I was 94kg': Home And Away’s Dan Ewing confesses he turned to binge eating after marriage split before revealing he has lost ten kilos in just EIGHT WEEKS

After a devastating few months for the former Home and Away star which saw him pile on the kilos, Dan Ewing is back and looking better than ever.

The 31-year-old broke down after his split from his television producer wife Marni, who mothers his two-year-old son Archer, in December last year.

He told New Idea a diet of red wine, cheese and crackers saw him gain ten kilos in no time - leaving him at a solid 94kg.

Working hard: Home and Away star Dan Ewing said after a period of overindulging on red wine, cheese and crackers, he's back at the gym and has dropped an impressive eight kilos in just eight weeks

'It was a result of stress and over-eating for sure,' he said, admitting the break-up was 'a huge part of it'.

'The silly seasons all seemed to blur in to one, Christmas, New Year, a couple of birthdays, Easter - and that nice glass of red at the end of the day started to turn into a bottle every night, with cheese and crackers,' he explained.

After hitting a low in self esteem and general happiness, the actor best known for playing bad boy Heath Braxton on Home and Away decided to do something about his predicament.

In happier times: The 31-year-old admitted the breakdown of his marriage to Marni, who mothers his son Archer, played a big part in his downward spiral

Where are the guns? While Dan did not appear overweight, he did lose a great deal of muscle tone, which he has now regained - and then some

Hard work! The actor says he now has more energy and feels more present in his day to day life

Dan teamed up with his good friend Ben Connor, who works as a strength and conditioning coach, to get himself back on track.

The pair have been training a minimum of three times a week and the actor has been eating smaller portioned meals, leading to a weight loss of 10 kilograms in only eight weeks.

He now says unreservedly he is in 'the best shape of my life' and notes he is more productive and present.

Rippling: Dan's constant workouts and meal portioning have left him looking better than ever

And it shows, with pictures of the Sydney-based hunk looking more toned and muscular compared to pictures from around the period of his split with Marni.

Despite the pair citing 'irreconcilable differences' when they announced their split, Dan still appears to hold a candle for the bubbly writer and producer.

'I've done a fair bit of soul searching since Marni and I split up,' he said.

'Nothing is going to change the way I feel about her, or about Archie. I still love them with all my heart.'

Forever love: The actor says nothing will change how he feels about Marni (L) or his son Archer (R), who he loves 'with all my heart'
