Getting candid: Nadia Sawalha is opening up once again about her health woes, admitting she is struggling to lose weight ever since she hit the menopause

She said: 'Originally about five years ago, I lost four stone. I was in the obese range.

'And then I fluctuated like we all do. Like I say show me a season, I'll show you a stone.

She added: 'But when I went into my menopause two years ago, I’ve been gradually putting weight on again. Probably 10,11, 12 pounds - probably 14 but I'm only good to 12.'

'I don't care what anybody says, it is harder once you have your menopause to lose weight. And I always thought that was an excuse.'

Cut a shap silhouette in a tailored LBD like Nadia's

Who hasn't imagined themselves as a Hollywood film star like Audrey Hepburn cutting a stylish silhouette in a little black dress? As Nadia Sawalha shows in her Diva Catwalk frock, an LBD is a perennial favourite.

Nadia chose a conservative number, which has bracelet-length sleeves, a knee-length skirt and a demure neckline that highlights the delicate clavicle area.

Really, it's a foolproof choice as its dark palette provides an unfussy base that lets her natural personality shine. And, if she chooses to she can reconfigure it a myriad of ways at the drop of a hat. She could vamp it up with a pair of fishnet tights and pumps or tone it down with ballet flats and a swing coat.

'I really believe, not everybody, but a lot of people that put on weight eat emotionally so we talk about swallowing our feelings.

'We put all these things into our head, saying "we deserve it", "this is a treat", "oh I've had a terrible day"'.
