She recently celebrated her birthday with a star-studded seventies inspired soiree.

And although looking every inch the disco diva on the night, Nicole Richie has gone back to her stylish ways as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The 35-year-old sported a pair loose-fitting light wash denims as she hosted the fashionable Pearl x Change VIP Pre Party with Levi's Customization.

The House of Harlow designer worked the baggy ripped knee jeans which she cuffed to flaunt her art deco inspired Mary Jane heels.

Injecting height into her 5ft1 frame, the Simple Life star - who is mum to Sparrow, 7, and daughter Harlow, 8 - displayed her slender pins in the relax fit jeans as she enjoyed the event.

The busy mum-of-two teamed her chic ensemble with a sleeveless black polo neck knit which hide her slight physique.

Adding vibrancy to her laid back look, Nicole - who is Lionel Richie's eldest daughter - plumped up her put with a bold blood orange lip which offset her statement drop earrings perfectly.

She was the embodiment of noughties style when she got up to mischief alongside heiress, Paris Hilton, on The Simple Life. But now? Nicole Richie of the twenty-tens has swapped her denim short shorts for ripped denim boyfriend jeans.

Attending a Pearl xChange Levi's customisation event, Nicole donned a dreamy pair of Levi's slouchy taper duds (what else?!). Available now via Levi's website (click right to shop them now), Nicole's denim had clearly been given the customisation treatment with some choice rips to the knees and the booty. Nicole jazzed up her jeans with a sophisticated black, high-neck top and a pair of art deco-inspired Mary Jane's.

Continuing to celebrate her milestone, Nicole wrote an essay for Lena Dunham's site Lenny - admitting she's not ashamed of her wild past that includes partying with Paris Hilton and getting a DUI.

Nicole insisted she doesn't care about the names she's been called because of her past.

She wrote: 'I've been given many titles: Wild child. Reality star. White-washed black girl. Skinny. Rich. (I guess the last two aren't so bad).'

'Now, at 35, the only titles I am taking on are the ones I give myself.'
