'It weighs heavily on me': Rosie Huntington-Whiteley reveals she misses her family after relocating to Beverly Hills with fiancé Jason Statham

Her meteoric rise to fame has inevitably brought in its wake a radical change to her lifestyle.

But having relocated from sleepy Devon to the sprawling Hollywood Hills in order to focus on her blossoming film and modelling career, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley admits she struggles with being so far away from her family. 

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, the Plymouth born 29-year old, who shares a house in Beverly Hills with fiancé Jason Statham, said: 'The one big downside is not having my family within reach.

'I would love to be able to invite them over for a roast dinner, or be able to say to my brother or sister, "Why don't you pop over for a glass of wine tonight?" but I can't and it weighs heavily on me.'

Despite being Britain's highest-earning model, former Victoria's Secret Angel Rosie insists she'll never take her status for granted as there'll always be new things she wants to achieve.

She said: 'I don't think you can ever sit back and think, "I've made it now I can relax." As soon as you start to have that attitude, that's when you lose it.

'My mum taught me never to be complacent. I'm always thinking, "What else is there left to do and where I can go now?" 

'I have always been drawn to women who have built something for themselves and who are unashamedly themselves. To me, that's the true power of a woman.' 

Rosie's ambition and desire to succeed stem from her modest upbringing.

She added: 'I come from very humble beginnings. I grew up on a farm in Devon and I left school at 16.

'So when I decided to go full-time as a model there was no option to give up. That survival instinct is what keeps me focused.'
