SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: How a loved up Gary Lineker and his ex Danielle shocked fellow passengers with their amorous display on-board a British Airways flight

  • Passenger claims Lineker and Lux got too amorous on honeymoon flight
  • Teresa Mahon called behaviour on a BA plane 'completely inappropriate'
  • Claims the newlyweds actually apologised to them at end of Naples flight

Match Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker was never booked during his football career, but his licentious behaviour off the pitch may deserve a red card.

Lineker, polishing his halo after speaking out to support child refugees in Calais, displayed less than angelic behaviour on a British Airways plane to Italy in the early days of his romance with former wife Danielle Bux.

According to fellow passenger Teresa Mahon, who shared the Club Class cabin with the loved-up couple, the former England striker and the Welsh lingerie model were on overly affectionate form during the London to Naples flight.

Mrs Mahon was accompanied by her husband and two small children, then aged 11 and eight, and says Lineker’s amorous antics were ‘completely inappropriate’ for a public place.

‘What they were getting up to opposite my children — it took everything to restrain my husband from confronting him,’ she says.

‘Even the cabin crew were embarrassed and clearly at a loss as to how best to handle things.

‘They actually apologised to us at the end of the flight.’

Millionaire Lineker married Danielle in a secret £400 civil ceremony in Italy the following year with a lavish reception estimated to have cost £250,000.

The couple divorced in January, but remain on friendly terms. Lineker, 55, has reportedly given his blessing to 37-year-old Danielle’s plans to marry LA lawyer Nate Greenwald.

Not content with engaging in political activism about the child migrant crisis — branding the media coverage ‘racist’ — the face of Walkers Crisps is now meddling in American politics.

MENTIONING NO NAMES

Which famous actor turned up to A&E at a London hospital with earache after a rock concert and lodged a formal complaint after being made to wait behind children with more urgent concerns?

This week, Lineker told U.S. podcast Planet Futbol: ‘I’m slightly worried about its politics at present… extraordinary goings-on there.’

Lineker added of America, where he is doing an increasing amount of TV punditry: ‘Most of the time I get a degree of anonymity, which is very welcome.’

The Princess Royal will become an honorary member of Edinburgh’s Speculative Society

Yet another role for hard-working Princess Anne, as I hear that she’s due to be inducted into a secretive Scottish society.

The Princess Royal will become an honorary member of Edinburgh’s Speculative Society, after the all-male bastion was ordered to start admitting women by the university vice-principal.

The mysterious debating society meets in the Old College at Edinburgh University, where Anne is chancellor.

Its arcane rituals include holding meetings by candlelight, writing with quill pens and making all introductions in Latin.

Initiates have to read out an essay to fellow members, which is burnt if it is considered unworthy. But Anne will be spared that trial, as she is succeeding her father, the Duke of Edinburgh, as an honorary ex- officio member.

According to a member, Anne was keen to avoid being the first token woman in the society’s 252-year history.

‘Half a dozen women have been admitted so far,’ says my man with the quill. ‘They are the same as the boys.’

Trump 'rigged vote on U.S. Apprentice'

The U.S. presidential election is rigged, Donald Trump has claimed.

But the bombastic singer Meat Loaf believes Trump was guilty of ‘fixing’ the result of the Celebrity Apprentice, when he appeared before The Donald on the show.

Asked what it was like to be fired by Trump, Loaf tells me: ‘I won.’

Bombastic singer Meat Loaf believes Trump was guilty of ‘fixing’ the result of the Celebrity Apprentice, when he appeared before The Donald on the show

So how come millions of viewers watched Loaf, who finished third in the series, being fired by Trump?

‘I won,’ repeats the singer, in town to launch a Bat Out Of Hell West End musical, with steely certainty.

Loaf contends that he was the moral victor since the other celebrities ‘already knew’ that Trump had chosen his two finalists before the competition began: ‘I came in third, so I won.’

Trump will no doubt claim victory whatever the result of Tuesday’s vote.
