'I just want to move on': Cynthia Bailey begins divorce on season premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Cynthia Bailey began divorce proceedings against husband Peter as The Real Housewives Of Atlanta on Sunday kicked off its ninth season.

The 49-year-old reality star revealed that she and Peter had been separated for five months and that her husband had moved to Charlotte, North Carolina while she stayed in Atlanta.

Cynthia visited her attorney Daniel Meachum and told him she was there to start divorce proceedings against Peter.

'I have been better. I am here to seek legal counsel for filing for a divorce,' she told the lawyer after being greeted in his office.

'Peter and I have been living apart for about five months now, he has been in Charlotte and I am here in Atlanta. We want to get through this, or I am really pushing to get through this with as much integrity and love as possible,' Cynthia revealed.

'The last time we saw each other I expressed my unhappiness in this marriage and my intentions to move forward in a different direction. I just want to move on.

'Peter and I have never painted a picture that our marriage was perfect. My breaking point was last year, I just felt like this was it, there was not going to be any real change,' she confided.

Legal counsel: Cynthia saw her lawyer Daniel Meachum about the divorce

Cynthia told her lawyer that there had been 'no infidelity or desertion' in their marriage.

'It is more me than him,' she told the attorney as she said they had a prenuptial agreement in place.

'The only thing I really want is the house, which is in my name,' she said as she was told it would take six month to work out her financial settlement and the dissolution of the marriage.

Prenup agreement: Peter and Cynthia it was revealed had a prenup when they got married

'Not living together is one thing but actually sitting down with a lawyer to discuss permanent option to really not be together for real is scary. S*** just got real,' she said.

Back in her car Cynthia placed her head on the steering wheel of her car as the situation hit home.

The show kicked off with Kandi Burruss and husband Todd getting used to life with five-month old son Ace.

Sinking in: Cynthia put her head on the steering wheel after meeting with her lawyer

'Ace is the coolest, he wakes up smiling, he laughs all the time. Ace has fulfilled my dream of having another baby and if he is the last one then I am okay with that,' a smiling Kandi told the cameras.

Kandi was all over Todd's parenting skills as she told the cameras she did 70 percent of the work for Ace.

'Todd doesn't want to do all the late night responsibilities. He just wants to sleep and snore,' she said.

New addition: Kandi Burruss and husband Todd were enjoying five-month-old son Ace

Cool kid: Ace was called 'the coolest' by his mother Kandi

Construction work continued at Kenya Moore's house and she used that to take a swipe at co-star Porsha Williams.

Kenya told the cameras that when she bought the home it 'was uglier than Porsha without make-up.'

Kenya continued to live in the house as it was renovated - unlike her neighbor Sheree Whitfield.

House work: Kenya Moore was working on home renovations ahead of a housewarming party

'With everything that is going wrong in my life, particularly with me and Matt, I am determined to get this part of my life right,' she said.

'Me and Matt were together a little under a year but it has been at least a month since I have seen Matt in person - we are not together.

'I broke up with him,' she revealed.

Two weeks: The reality star gave her contractors two weeks to make the house presentable

Kenya then said that when the couple had been in Mexico he had checked her phone to find out who she was texting.

'The next thing I know he kicked in the door and just starts grabbing all of my things and throwing them all around the room,' she said.

'Matt lost control and I am not going to be in the presence of someone who cannot control their anger,' Kenya said.

It's over: Kenya revealed that she split with Matt after an incident in Mexico

Up the street, construction at Sheree's so-called Chateau Sheree mansion had finally come to an end after four years of work with just finishing details left.

'I want it jaw dropping. I want b****es coming in here and picking their face up off the floor,' she laughed.

Sheree told the cameras that she and ex-husband Bob remained 'strictly friends.'

Just friends: Sheree Whitfield clarified that she and ex-husband Bob were just friends

'We are doing great co-parenting but romantically he has a long way before he can get into my chateau,' she said.

Sheree then described 19-year-old son Kairo as a 'sex-symbol.'

'If he is considered a sex-symbol then I'm sure he gets it from me,' she said modestly as she insisted she did not care about people mocking the length of time it had taken her to finish the mansion.

At Kenya's, the builders were given just two weeks to finish the home before her housewarming party.

Under construction: Kenya had builders working hard for the housewarming party

Porsha paid a visit to see Phaedra Parks who told the cameras she was still trying to divorce imprisoned husband Apollo Nida.

'I filed for divorce last year but it has been a long and drawn out process because Apollo has not wanted to get the divorce,' she told the cameras.

Porsha asked her pal if she was ready to start dating other men again.

Nice visit: Porsha Williams visited with friend Phaedra Parks

'Well I am waiting for word on my divorce being final,' she said.

'I am just hoping we can get this resolved. When I decide to get back into the dating game I don't know about this online dating stuff,' she admitted as she said she did not want to go out on a date 'with a murderer.'

Porsha told her she would make some calls on her behalf.

Dating game: Porsha said she would make some calls for Phaedra when she's ready to date

When the doorbell rang a white-suited man who arrived on a horse-drawn carriage delivered a tiara invitation to Kenya's housewarming.

Phaedra told uninvited Porsha that she could come as her date.

Porsha took the cameras along to her anger management session.

Anger management: The cameras came along as Porsha sought anger management counseling

'At first I was completely turned off by the idea of going to anger management but after going it is like any other counsellor. You need to open up and figure out why your behavior is what it is and I honestly enjoy it,' she said.

Porsha told her therapist that she had been labelled 'angry' by some of the Housewives and admitted that she had got angry and physical in the past.

She told the therapist she wanted to learn how to walk away from situations and to not let other people phase her.

Self improvement: Porsha was trying to control her anger and better her reputation

Porsha told the therapist that when she was in high school she was 'bullied to no end' about her teeth and eyes.

'The boys used to call me rabbit and beaver,' she told the therapist.

'I seriously dealt with depression as a child, it was really bad actually. One time I felt like I wanted to commit suicide, it was that bad,' she said with tears welling up.

Tough time: The reality star said she was bullied in high school

The therapist told her she had to think about her legacy and job and bigger things than herself when her anger built up.

Kenya called Sheree to personally invite her to her housewarming - but was quick to throw jabs at her friend.

'I would gladly have sent Sheree an invite by horse and carriage but I don't know where she lives, it's not Chateau Sheree. I don't know if it is a tent in the woods or a cardboard box under the freeway or a halfway house, I didn't know where to send it,' she told the cameras mischievously.

Fancy invitation: Kenya sent out invitations to her housewarming party by horse-drawn carriage

Kenya was in the middle of reminding Sheree to mind her manners at the party when her co-star simply hung up.

'The entire call was shady. Shade, shade, shade. You should be happy that I would even grace your housewarming. Kenya Moore, classless,' she told the cameras.

Cynthia back at home started going through financial documents to prepare for her divorce.

Shady talk: Sheree was invited to the housewarming by phone

At home: Cynthia meanwhile was searching for her prenuptial agreement at home

'It took me a long time to get married as I have always been very independent. When I decided to get married to Peter he knew that I am not the type of woman who stays in something just to be in something,' she said.

'Peter is built a little differently. He will stay in the relationship just to be in the relationship and that just doesn't work for me,' Cynthia added.

Cynthia then spoke via video chat with Peter, who was unimpressed to see her.

Video chat: Peter and Cynthia were shown having an awkward video chat

Peter told her that he was at his club and called his business 'my new girlfriend, my new relationship.'

'Okay this is awkward and uncomfortable,' Cynthia told him as she admitted she could not find their prenup.

He sarcastically told her to ask her mother and that it would be in the same place as the marriage license, which his mother-in-law had tried to withhold.

Kind of awkward: Cynthia admitted the conversation was awkward

'Peter has good days and bad days, some days he can be like ''Okay I get it let's do this'' and other days he is like ''You never tried you just gave up'' it has been a lot of back and forth and a lot of ups and downs,' she told the cameras.

Peter told her on the phone that the only thing he ever wanted form Cynthia 'was you.'

'I am looking at your face and I haven't seen it in a long time. I miss that face,' he told her emotionally.

Getting emotional: Peter got emotional as he told Cynthia that he missed her face

Housewarming work was still going on at Kenya's house, but at least her driveway was completed.

'Now the wide-bodied haters can comfortably sit down without their a** cheeks hanging off either side,' she said cheekily.

Kandi got her son ready for the party and told the cameras that times had definitely changed.

Cute baby: Ace was all smiles with Kandi and Todd

Parenting skills: Kandi so far wasn't impressed with Todd's parenting skills

'It is so weird to me. When I first started hanging out with these girls I was the single one and now it seems that I am the only one that is happily in a relationship and married,' she said triumphantly.

'Phaedra and Cynthia are going through a divorce, Porsha and Sheree have been divorced for a few years and Kenya, we don't know the status of her and Matt right now,' Kandi said.

Kenya at her place showed Cynthia a card and balloons from Matt, in which he apologized and told her he loved her.

Stable relationship: Kandi remarked how she's the only one in a happy relationship

She told Cynthia that she bought the house before Matt for her future but that he had been a big part of doing the house up with her.

'I eventually saw us being here together, it really could have been for us,' said Kenya wiping away tears.

Cynthia told the cameras that Matt 'doesn't always do well but he always means well - apart from kicking down the door of the hotel.'

Tears flowing: Kenya wiped away tears talking about her planned future with Matt

She told Kenya to enjoy her dream house and that she should be very proud of herself for what she had achieved.

Sheree arrived and was instantly unimpressed with the steep driveway, changing from heels to flats.

'Hell to the no, this is a rollercoaster right here. This is dangerous,' she said in a strop.

Not impressed: Sheree was not impressed as she arrived at the housewarming

'From the look of the driveway and the outside Kenya still has quite a ways to go,' she said with a smug look on her face..

'She said she is living fabulous but she is clearly living like the Flintstones,' she added.

Kenya told Sheree her house had been a project and instantly took a jab at the five years it had taken her for her own home.

Going at it: Kenya and Sheree exchanged insults about their home renovation projects

Sheree shot back that it had not been five years, but four.

She then told Kenya that her whole house was 'the same size as my master suite.'

'If you are going to throw stones at me at least throw stones from inside your house,' Kenya told the cameras.

Throwing stones: Kenya suggested that Sheree throw stones from inside her house

She told the women that she had not invited Porsha, because even though things were satisfactory between them, she did not feel comfortable having her in the house.

But Phaedra had other ideas as she invited Porsha along as her plus one.

'For me to come to Kenya's housewarming, I feel as if I am in a brand new place and I am here to congratulate her on her home in her home,' said Porsha.

New place: Porsha felt good about going to Kenya's party

As she walked in the other Housewives could not believe their eyes.

'Er Porsha, why are you here? You were not invited,' a confused Cynthia told the cameras as Porsha did the rounds.

And the look on Kenya's face as the episode ended was one of shock.

Making the rounds: Porsha made the rounds as Phaedra's plus one

Not cool: Kenya looked shocked to see Porsha at her party

In scenes from next week, Kenya asked to speak to Porsha alone.

Matt also was seen entering the party.

'I don't know if he is here to make nice or something else,' said Kenya.

Heating up: Porsha and Matt both surprised Kenya at her party
