'I wouldn't want to rob them of the pleasure and satisfaction of making it on their own,' he told the publication.

'Obviously if they got into trouble I would help them, but I don't feel like they are waiting for me to pop off so they can inherit whatever is left'.

The international hitmaker said he's proud of all of his children and described each of them as 'fiercely independent, hardworking and well-educated'.

Sting first revealed his children wouldn't receive a large portion of his £180 million earnings in an interview with Mail on Sunday Event magazine in 2014.

At the time, he explained: 'I told them there won’t be much money left because we are spending it. We have a lot of commitments. What comes in, we spend, and there isn’t much left.'

Sting added: 'I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks.

'They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.

'Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that. They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit.'
