And on Friday Jack Nicholson had extra enjoyable night at Staples Center as he was accompanied by his son Ray.

His elevated mood might also have been attributable to the fact his beloved basketball team hammered their Californian rivals 117-97.

The 79-year-old screen legend seemed as into his conversation with his 24-year-old boy as he was to the game, even with the shock score unfolding in front of him.

Even the presence of two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry - who could be seen scurrying around just feet away - could turn the one-sided game around.

In fact the Nicholson boys got to witness the first time in 158 consecutive games the 28-year-old failed to score a single three-pointer in a game.

The Chinatown star meanwhile wasn't the only celeb on hand to witness Friday's hammering; rappers Drake and French Montana were both spotted courtside also in giddy form.

The tickled Canadian, unmissable in a burnt orange hoodie, seemed to laugh his way through all four quarters.

At one stage he was spotted locking eyes with Curry, which he seemed to find even funnier.

Drake is officially a fan of his hometown Toronto Raptors - being their global ambassador - though lighthearted fun has been poked in his direction for the sheer number of teams he appears to support.

French meanwhile surprised everyone once again by wearing all white.
