On Saturday, Nicole Richie hosted the Pearl xChange conference at The London West Hollywood hotel.

The 35-year-old, who also co-founded the organisation for which the event is named, wore an eye-catching ensemble to walk the carpet.

A rust-coloured shaggy coat with matching lining was draped about her shoulders and dangled almost to her knees.

Beneath the coat was a turtlenecked off-white blouse with oversize cuffs that spilled over her knuckles.

She'd tucked the top into a pair of faded blue jeans with flared hems that obscured her shoes and were slightly frayed.

Two medallion pendants were slung round her neck, and she'd also popped on a pair of gleaming drop earrings.

The daughter of Lionel Richie had, for the most part, pulled her hair back behind her head, but she allowed a few strands to fall free.

Per the Pearl xChange website, the organisation aims to help women 'feel empowered, inspired and motivated.'

To that end, Saturday's conference featured speeches from successful women including, but not limited to, actresses Cameron Diaz and Yara Shahidi, SoulCycle founders Julie Rice and Elizabeth Cutler, The Hunting Ground producer Amy Ziering.
